i was wondering…if i built a map for wolf now…can i convert it to a ET map later? by just changing textures and stuff? please lemme know…i wanna map for et…

We’re hoping to put together some info to help mappers migrate to ET.
The new weapons, classes, scripting, and ET gameplay will dictate whether your RTCW map will work or be viable in ET. A good example is Team-Only doors in ET (seen in Fuel Dump). These don’t exsist in RTCW but are an interesting thing to consider when designing a base/objective for ET.

You could use your RTCW map as a starting point and then modify it’s objectives and layout, etc for ET.

A good brush never goes to waste :slight_smile:

okay so if i just create my map…and already put some walls to be blown out by a tank or those team only doors…i can just add the code later…and the textures ofcourse…oh boy thats a big job…

oh and another qeustion…is it possible to already create terrain using easygen? caus i wasnt sure because engineers have to plant mines in the ground…maybe something special is needeed?

oh and one more thing…will ET have kinda the same textures as wolf? or more? or whatever…

There is a new surface parameter for landmines which goes into shader script of the terrain layer. You can start building your terrain and other geometry now and then just convert it to the appropriate ET entities & scripting when the time comes.
