When I heard that the game was finally available, I was really excited and downloaded it immediately.

I have to say, after playing it for a few hours, this game is completely rubbish… :angry:

My first hint that something wasnt right was the intro screen:

But I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, after all graphics arent what makes a game, its gameplay.

However, the maps were incredibly blocky and unimaginative… :eek:


Worst of all are the sounds… :disgust: when your player moves it sounds like youre scrubbing a toilet with a wire brush. When you sprint, your player makes sounds like a chihuahua on drugs. And you have no weapons whatsoever! Thats OK i guess since your enemies dont have any either. But it doesnt make for an exciting game at all, compared to the greatness that is RTCW.

I dont know whats so great about this XP system everyone talks about either, I mean getting points for picking up Reeses Pieces… :???:

After being so thorougly disgusted with ET, I have to say that my copy is going on the rubbish heap along with 5 million other copies of ET. :smiley:

he he he that ET (E.T.) was the most boring game ever. Jeus I hated to fall in those holes…in fact…I still don’t understand the objetive of that game…

On the other hand the other ET (Enemy Territory) is pure fun fun fun

Ah, I’m sorry I missed this the first go-round. As it happens, most “experts” (you like how now there are “experts” in almost every field–even the field of video game history?) agree that ET for the Atari is the single worst video game of all time.

To have the game ready for Christmas, Atari forced the programmer to do a major rush job that prevented any real fine-tuning of gameplay. Despite this, Atari anticipated a huge demand, stocked its warehouses with millions of cartridges and advertised E.T. like the Second Coming. Lots of people bought it at first, but gradually the word spread that the gameplay consisted mainly of E.T. falling into an endless series of pits, and the game was much too frustrating for the young kids for whom it was intended. Demand dropped so precipitously that millions of unsold E.T. carts had to be dumped in a landfill. The game is sometimes accused (not altogether without justification) of single-handedly causing the “crash” of the video games market in the mid-'80s. So, worst or not, E.T. remains one of the most embarrassing, most ill-fated titles in the entire 2600 library.

There’s a rumor that Atari made so many of the E.T. cartridges and sold so few that out of embarassment they buried them out in one of the salt flats in Utah , maybe Bonneville salt flats.
