ET in 3D (no glasses needed)

Just some more sillyness…

How it works:

It’s a lot easier if you hold a paper in front of the monitor (in the middle of the image):

Then make sure you’re alone in the room before you place your face next to the paper (you’ll look silly doing this).

Short movie (requires XviD or VLC):

Note that you may need to adjust the size of the movie for it to work; the distance between the same detail in the left and right images should be the same or slightly shorter than the distance between your eyes. The movie works pretty good for me full screen on a 19" monitor.

Lol! The idea is freaky!

Haven’t got the time to try it, lots of people around + it’s a CRT I’m looking on… Not that healthy looking closely at it.

That is pretty cool ^^
I have some 3D glasses some where, maybe it would be cool to make a little movie with this stuff =P

A little tutorial I’ve come across in the last days:
CREATING STEREOGRAPHIC IMAGES WITH Q3:A

Haven’t read it yet.
But it seems to fit this discussion.

It’s not entirely the same. Here we’re talking about a real color one with the fov tweaked, shifted images and some blurring.

wow i though it was a joke but that looks amazing… although could be hard to play ET while holding a pice of paper to the monitor

StereoQuake was actually a mod made for Q3 quite some years ago. The way that did it tho was having the eyes focus on both screens at once. Headache inducing more than likely.

trippy AND painful after awhile, loved the last dip in the move, you should make a longer version with faster dips ;D

That’s all we need, another excuse to bolt our head to our monitors…lol
