Just upgraded to the latest version of Desert Combat (mod for BF1942) which is insane and I’m still going through my OMG must play this in every free moment phase.

I’ve heard rumors upon rumors over gamespy that ET has been cancelled and ive heard rumors that it will be released on friday… im only going to believe one of them, you’ll have to figure that out for yourself

In my ASE browser I see a private ET server (18/64 players) running version:
“ET 2.48 win-x86 May 13 2003”

Game = etmain
Protocol = 82

That’ll be the test server for the closed betas. I’ve seen it around before too. I saw about 3 of them during the initial closed beta tests.

The report I had seen was not attributed to anyone in particular and just seemed so vague (though I guess that’s not unusual) That it refered to plantetwolfenstein.com (the official site?) and then there was no mention of it there made me a little skeptical so I still considered it a rumor. However, the links you sent mention that the report was issued by Hellchick from Activision so that’s good enough for me. In sum, I stand corrected!

As most of you know RTCW:ET was to be released this week. After hours of research and help from numberous privately funded companies(www.thisweeknextweek.com) and a few under intoxicated volunteers we have finally found out what did truly happen to the release date of “Early Next Week”. Hours of sifting through server log files and cluttered bawls bottles resulted in a truly remarkable discovery. Seems what has happened is that in the translation from Stupidity to English we had an error. Where “Next week” was written it should of read “I have no idea I just wanna be a superstar”. It seems that this has happened twice now with the same translation mistake from the same person(HC). Once when the Test Map was released and again now. After considerable consideration into what kind of action can to be taken to resolve the problem we as a team have decided what needs to be done is who ever comes in contact with the original story teller in this case need to just smack the person right in the face. We think that may stop all need to translate from stupidity in the first place. Have some consideration for the masses that are flocking to the site(s) waiting for this to release. Do not tell lies or feed us full of bs. Please just keep your mouth shut until it is time for the release. No need to even open that thing unless you are to speak the truth. :moo:

This week has really been annoying because i was expecting to be playing the full version by now. I wish Splash Damage would have said something to put ppl’s minds at rest.

I also dont mind if it takes another few weeks, but i do mind when we are not kept informed of the overall progress.
