Here are a few things that have been overly discussed, and this is just my attempt to clean the forum a little.

  1. When is ET Full Coming Out?
    A. When its ready… DUH! I don’t know about you, but I would rater have a bug free game tommorow, than a buggy game today that just makes it horrible.

  2. The voice chats are horrible… CHANGE THEM!!
    A. Yes… We know. This has been discussed over and over, and posting 20 threads on it won’t do any good. If SD wants to change it, they would have made up there minds by now, if they choose not to… well… tough luck.

  3. Sniping is impossible.
    A. One of the reasons sniping is impossible at the moment is becuase of the player warping, in the full release i’m sure a lot of you will change yoru mind about sniping. Adressing the headshot issue… it is not my duty here to agree or disagree, but i’m sure SD is discussing it, and will come to a decision of you liking.

  4. Adressing bugs.
    Please send you bugs to etbugs@idsoftware.com . I’m not saying don’t post bugs here, but you have a better chance of getting it changed if you send it there.

  5. SMG’s are toys… NOT GUNS!!!
    Ok… You guys have made your point. Also, I am sure half of you will change your mind after the gameplay gets smoother. Adressing the rate of fire, this does not affect gameplay AT ALL! This feature cancels itself out and you can still have balls out gunfights, but of course this is being covered by the player skipping… I ASSURE YOU, YOU WILL THINK DIFFERNTLY WANTS THE SKIPPING IS OUT OF THE PICTURE!

6 Server Crashes.
A. Of course this is being worked on, they are not going to give out a product that punts people every couple minutes.

  1. XP System.
    For those of you that don’t like it, just think of it as an extension of point from vanilla wolf, with some advantages : P.

Also, look at the ReadMe file in your ET install, it should explain some issues that are being worked on.

Edit: How could I be so stupid… GRENADE PHYSICS!
A. This is the only time I will express my opinion. Grenade physics are realistic and they should stay. They are REALISTIC, and they add more skill to playing. If you don’t like it, then don’t use nades.

Add also…

  1. The grenade physics suck, why did they change them.
    It is an effort to incorporate the thrower’s interia into the throwing action so as to make it more realistic. It is different from RtCW and takes a little getting used to. It allows you to throw extra far with a running start and make clean drops of nades when running backwards. Suggestions have been made regarding modifying/limiting the effects of the transfered inertia but it is unknown if changes will be made in the release version.

I like the new nades a lot more than RTCW and find them a lot more fun to play with :slight_smile:

SD is developing Enemy Territory, id are executively producing it, and Activision are publishing it - including all the standard things a publisher does, such as production, quality assurance and anything like press releases and managing open (read: to the online community) beta testing.

As much as we’d like to tell you when the game is coming out, it’s Activision/id’s call - the best we can give you is a feeble ‘when it’s ready’, which is something of a non-answer. You already know that much, surely?
