ET crashes When i select host game or join server

Just bought a new monitor,uninstalled ET and all config files.

Installed the monitor then ET again as ive had problems changing hardware then running ET before.

Now when i start the ET.exe it loads and i can do everything like settings etc but when i click on join server or start server ET will crash and i get a windows error screen.

Ive tried in all compatibility modes (95,98/ME,2k and normal XP)

My config is:

Windows XP SP1
Amd xp 2600+
1 gig 3200 ram
Radeon 9700 pro (latest drivers)

Was working 100% with old monitor so i guess thats the problem but ive tried all usual ways of fixing probs so can someone help me out please :slight_smile:

Why did you unistall ET for a simple monitor change (was this the only thing being changed), the monitor shouldn’t effect a games ability to run. More likely that the uninstall/re-install has caused some problems.

did you download and install any maps or addons after reinstalling?

sorry wasnt clear.

I installed the monitor first and the problem started,uninstalled drivers then ET then reinstalled in the order above.

Its a completly new install ,i deleted the whole program folder after uninstalling.

I can now use All Seeing Eye software to play but the ingame host selection and server section still crash the game.
