ET crashes at the very beginning

What shoudl I do?
It keeps crashing everytime just after that startup consolebox have disappeard. Some text appears on consle screen but I’m never quick enough to capture that.(it’s almost crashed even then) Screen turns to white/grey and nothing happends. Mouse cursor still moves. I have re-installed video/sound drivers from driverCD and also unistalled and re-installed ET. (downloaded from 3 different sites). I have tried to run it 1.01 and 1.02. But it still keeps crashing! :banghead:

You say ‘crash’ but it sounds like it locks up. Can you Ctrl-Alt-Delete
out of ET?
Activision Support: When I launch the game I just get a grey, black, or otherwise colored screen. (at least try the cl_autoupdate part).

You may want to download updated drivers, the ones on the included driver CD are often pretty old… And personally I always use the driver from the chipset manufacturer instead of the board manufacturer’s drivers (ATI Catalyst and nVidia nForce2 drivers instead of Connect 3D and ASUS drivers in my case).

yes, CTRL-ALT-DEL works altough it’s a bit slow…
