[ET] can not enable PB & banned because of cheating ?!

I use ET 2.60 under Linux and i can not enable punkbuster !

when i launch ET:

When i click on “HOST GAME” and on “PunkBuster” nothing happens.
In july that was crashing:

I have also tried with some console commands:

]/sv_punkbuster
“sv_punkbuster” is:“0^7” default:“0^7”

]/sv_punkbuster 1
sv_punkbuster is read only.

Strange … that worked before !
The install is clean because i only have installed the official packages and deleted the ~/.etwolf folder.

I don’t have played online since 2 month and now i have to choose the servers without PB enabled.
I am very surprised, some servers ban me when i want to connect . Why ? I have never used cheats.

That are servers i was never gone before.

I think they filter with a shared IP black list, but why would i be black listed ?
I have an ADSL connection with a dynamic IP.

Can somebody explain me why i am banned of some servers ?

You need to have punkbuster enabled on the client side using cl_punkbuster. You could also enable it from the options menu. (System sub-menu I think)

BTW: Sure you got no suspicious files in your install? Corrupt pk3’s, or something alike?

hmm i think that you have to activate it in playonline screen, cl_punkbuster is readonly

The command to enable Punkbuster on the client is PB_CL_ENABLE.

I don’t think so, but i’ll reinstall.

I have installed ET in /usr/local/games and the downloaded pk3 are in ~/.etwolf.
When i remove this folder i have to recreate a profile. I choose a name, connection, … and i click on “enable punkbuster”. A new window is opened and i click on “YES” to enable PB, but the result is same as “NO”.
