Seems that the link isn’t working.
Would be great to know the rules of 1 vs. 1 (objectives or only fragging).

For the rules and info part!
We have deathmatch and objective maps in the 1on1 ladder. Means CTF + Frag only is possible.

(th0rn3) #12

Cool, Ill show some of my new skills.
Questions:

  1. Can I send more than 1 map?
  2. Can I change color scheme of ESL logo?
  3. Can I make secret areas?
  4. Can I ‘lock’ spectators in another room? Or should they flow freely?

  5. I don’t think so

  6. This is a 1on1 map. It’s supposed to be competitive. So I don’t think it would be a good idea to put secret area’s in it since no one would use them.

  7. Again it’s a competitive map and sometimes people want to see other people play these 1o1’s.

  1. ofcoure you can feel free to send in as many maps as you wish
  2. No.
  3. No. See Yorrick’s comment
  4. Flew freely. Yorrick’s comment

(nukits) #15

uhh actually my map is redy almost or think :open_mouth:

(Pande) #16

Don’t send it in then till much later, closer to dead line. You might as well make it as detailed as possible and as bueatiful as possible and if its got many layers too it or corners hint brush EVERYTHING with spliced hinting and maybe add a slight fog for visual light diffusion or add in some more sounds for ambience since that is very important and add some more interactive effects like func_breakable or triggered events such as a falling branch from a tree or if its a war themed map an airplane to rush overhead at random or…

Ok, i am coming up with too many helpful ideas for my own map so I will stop now. xD

(th0rn3) #17

Yet another question:
Can I send few versions of my map? For example: one is DM, other is OBJ

(shagileo) #18

I think, since it’s 1 on 1 you can only send in DM, since OBJ would be very lonely as 1 on 1
But then again, I’m not sure

(eiM) #19

nope shagileo there is also CTF mode meaning objective in 1v1 competition.

well th0rn3 I think its not the best idea as the votes for you map could be splitted then… better think of which gametype is more usefull and send it in as that.

Ofc its not forbidden to send in two, but I doubt it will be useful as we will have a jury of several mappers, players, admins spreading their votes ;).

(isbowhten) #20

what about a funmap?
well the “mission” of the map is funny but it requires killing the enemy alot ^^
so could be ok isnt it?
