When I try to decompress the .run file using sh, I get the following error:
Uncompressing Enemy Territory 2.56…
…
…
…
…
…
…
…Extraction failed.
.Signal caught, cleaning up
Any ideas on what I should do?

It could be because of the following, your /tmp directory is too small so the contents don’t get extracted, you could solve that by using the --target option and point to a directory which has access to more space. example sh et* --target /home/someuser/ettemp
Good luck
puubert What would you install linux on do you think ??

“How about playing it on a PC? Crazy idea I know…”
lol, that cheered up my day no end
Pardon my mistake, but when he says “Linux Box” in the title, I thought he meant “X-box”.
Basically the x-box is just a small PC. I’m having fun with some games of my mame collection on the X-box ;))

And that makes you mistake better how?
It doesn’t, I’m just explaing how I made the mistake. I’ve never heard of a Linux Box before. Linux is an OS if I’m not mistaken, not a machine.
A box is slang for a PC. Eg I have a box running knoppix and a box running xp. = My 2 pcs.
Erm, box is slang for a computer, even if it isn’t a PC. EG, that Sun box in the corner, or that SGI box that we dropped of the back of the pickup truck.
