From the Even Balance website:
If you get a ‘htm to binary conversion failure’ message, please try running PBWEB again; this error message is usually caused by a timed out download from the website and re-running PBWEB almost always works the second time in this case
i’ve ran it multiple times. that didn’t do it.
the website is seemingly working well because it does successfully download the htm files.
Bug since you’re prolly behind a router/firewall it won’t work?
If you are trying to update PB for a dedicated server, just download the newest files manually. Clients should update normally in game.
One other thing you can check is if the PB directory in your fs_homepath (default is ~/.wolfet/pb) contains a subdirectory called “dll” and if it’s accessible and writable to the user you’re logged in as. If not, create the directory and change permissions if needed. PBWEB will not create this directory if it doesn’t exist (kinda bug-ish).
One other thing. You have to run PBWEB from the directory I mentioned above. Do not run in from the PB directory in the install path (fs_basepath).
HTH.
