Error: bcs exceeded BIS_INFO_STRING

What the hell is this? I get this error every time I try to load up a map locally. I use ETPro, so maybe I should post this over at bani’s–I don’t know.

I haven’t seen this one before, but the usual problems hosting locals games are

  • too many .pk3s
  • multiple or mixed mod files.

Both these have been discussed at length here and on the etpro forum. The simplest way to avoid them is to make a new clean copy of et, with only the latest version of etpro, and then copy over any custom maps or whatever else you might want.

I deleted all the pk3 files that had been downloaded the last week, and it worked. I should have thought of that. Thanks, reyalP.

FWIW, many (if not all) of the “too many .pk3 files” bugs are fixed in 2.60
