ENOUGH!!!

i’m definitely sure that u troll at the moment… but i’m gonna answer this one for those that don’t have many hours like u at the game. yes there is a minimap at left right of your screen (by default) where u can take really good information!!

also i have a question for u, easy one. how i can add a signature like yours?

It was more of a sarcastic comment to show how useless the damn minimap is.

hmmm i didn’t think of that, nice to mention. but in my opinion minimap is not useless at all, sure u can have a quick glance to see the positioning from your team. on the other hand if u compare it with other fps minimaps like bf4 is not that useful, i can agree with that. but still games are not similar and u have to take from every thing that the game gives u the most information

In the 418 hours that I played this game, the minimap has not assisted me any way at all ever. They could REALLY improve on it, but I also don’t think it’s needed. It would be best if they had an option to just get rid of it completely.

for sure they could really improve it but i don’t think i would like it improved for this game. also u can’t use minimap to spot enemies lets say witch is the most common use of it in most fps games, cause spotting at this game is on your screen like wallhack(way easier to track spotted enemies). i will say it once more, that inmo minimap is just to see where your teammates are on the map. that, if u combine it with the ‘‘z’’ by default button (gives u the ability to see ally names) with a fast glance u can find out where u should position yourself, in order not to get stuck and to cover all of the map.

Maybe you should stop telling people what to do and demand from them to act the way you want?
There are more than “ENOUGH!!!” people doing it already for a rather silly free to play game, plus - you don’t really look that competent.

(MarsRover) #27

I use it all the time while playing medic so I can go to my teammates. It helps to zomm it out by pressing the minus sign. I wish it was remembered between matches. Now my pregame ritual is F6-minus sign-switch to melee.

well i don’t demand anything for sure… i’m just trying to give some advise in order everyone plays a better game and push the game forward. also no one forces u to play the game and the game is not silly at all. so far it’s a good game and we expect more from it. so if u think that i don’t have the necessary ability, knowledge, skill to advise players can u tell me witch of those 15 simple things is wrong?? also why don’t share with us YOURS ideas on how to be better? it’s ok and easy to criticize someone but the difficult part is to find arguments to convince others. i don’t see any proposals at your post or counter advises, u just typed to flame, i’m sorry

p.s can u tell me how a competent player looks like? and how u came to conclusion that i’m not one of those? could really be useful to me

(Fiktio) #29

But hey, people have to start from somewhere.
Everyone are bad at first, but how they are supposed to get some practice, if they give up immediately if they do bad for awhile?

And it’s totally different thing to “go and learn” spots and shady corners from the map and then actually hit a moving target. Especially hitting those targets that are running faster than others…

(Edzer) #30

you’re not gonna tell me how I should be playing pubs bru

(farmakoxeris.exe) #31

u see that’s the good attitude pub players!!! NO ONE TELLS U WHAT TO DO. i just share what i think would help the game, my ideas. feel free to use what someone tells or not that simple. just ideas every one could find useful but no forcing u to do it.

and again don’t just say something in order to say it. don’t flame like that, instead try to be productive by counter arguments. so which one u think was wrong of those 15 simple things??
or tell us your own ideas on how to be better, no help by being a sheriff! believe me there are at least 100 hints more to say…
…

DON’T BE A DICK
Too long to quote and I want to make my post short and simple. I most certainly agree (on most points) and sympathize with you here because this is Dirty Bomb. I quote “… This game is not going to hold your hand; it’s more likely to kick your teeth out.” So I’ll *#($#@ yell at you to do your damn job.

No one explained to me things about merc team synergy and timing tactics when I was sub level 5. I had to do the hard yard of learning things myself so I get scorned and yelled at. I’ll do the same to scrubs and yes, I will offend you if I tell you what you need to do because this is a team based objective game. You want to play differently, Tetris might suit you better.

Now for my take.
[]Ammunition Support Players - those of you who fancy Skyhammer and Arty, don’t just drop ammo… and for F O X sake, don’t throw the ammo where the player going to pick it up will get exposed to gunfire. Further, don’t give ammo to the opposition so those of you who continually drop ammo in the heat of the firefight, THINK again. Also (here’s a pro tip I learned from a master SkyHammer), learn to P A S S the ammo! For 10 extra XP for making a direct pass to your recipient, your support XP will go a long way (You get a whooping 60+10+10 XP for resupplying with skill by passing the ammo at spawn time). As for those who drop med packs at the spawn, ask yourself who will need them when the players’ health are at full? You’re just activating your action skill cool down if you do that. It’s fine if you pass ammo when the rest of your team mates are spawning with you, but it will be better when they get promptly resupplied because in the heat of the firefight, you get more XP and they get to concentrate on the objective or defending rather than running back to the ammo crate for a much needed ammo resupply.[]Objective Specialist Players - There must be at least one in the team and you need to support their role. YES, you’re the one that get’s the support and not the other way around. But that doesn’t mean that when there’s two objective specialist and one is engaged in repairing/disarming, you’ll butt in to do their work. “TEAM MATE DISARMING/REPAIRING” means you’ll need to do something else. It only takes one objective specialist to do the objective(s), so if you see it flash in your screen, provide cover or go somewhere else that will help the team.[]Medical Support Players - Please prioritize your role as medical support for the team. I know it’s a tough job to be everywhere when the map is big and the team is spread out in different places, but don’t go around tanking against Rhino or Fragger because you think your Crotzni, Blishlok, or Rhemburg is sufficient to face to face with them. Your team needs to be up and in top shape all the time, specifically the objective specialist. As for you AURA players, you literally can dictate where the defense will be established using your Health Station so be tactical when deploying them. Rhino depends on your health station to hold his position.[]Vassili players - The Heartbeat Sensor synergizes with Arty, Kira and Skyhammer’s artillery, orbital and air strike. USE THEM TACTICALLY!!!
Redeye Players - FFS, throw your smoke to the enemy, and not obscure the team’s vision. Also learn to use the thermal “redeye” vision in conjunction with the smoke.
.

What I’ve been noticing during a lot of games is that… PEOPLE DO NOT CHECK THE MERCS IN THEIR OWN TEAM. I’ve been in games where:
[] There has been 3 vassilis
[
] A game without ANY objective specialists while you had to plant C4 or repair the EV

3-4 skyhammers while it was just useless
And there’s probably more which I can’t really remember right now…

When I enter a game, the first thing I do is checking which mercs are on my team so I can adjust to that. Sometimes I don’t wanna play Proxy but if there needs to be at least one, I’ll play her. I don’t know how many other players do this too but holy moly it annoys me when people don’t check their team.

here is another thing i wanted to talk about. proper merc choose should be common sense though… np another tip for starters! nice to mention it!

(MarsRover) #35

Planting C4 without any objective specialists is fine. I do it all the time. Disarming is worse.

Repairing the EV without a single engineer on the other has is a nightmare. I’ve only seen it succeed once on Chapel.

(Mondler) #36

play as you like bruH…no one ever tells you how to play…
fellow friend farmakoxeris only suggested some things to give pub matches a better experience for all the players and not having salty level 6 players telling me why i joined the server (level 22)…and then watch 4 people defusing a bomb…
these are merely suggestions for newer players how to be more “productive” in the game and enjoy it better without having pubs full of people rage quiting or one team stomping the other…
before i even played the game i watched like 5 vids to get the feeling and know the game a bit before even shooting a bullet…it took me like 20 mins…
i think a “newbie” guide would be great even if SD can implement it somehow in the game in the tutorial…also another video ,like the one they allready have, with more details explained would me awesome.

props to farmakoxeris for starting this thread after endless nights trying to calm him down seeing 2 medics next to him, the one just watching at his body and the other reviving with the F button and counltess times both trying with chat and ingame voip to get some of the delicious ammo skyhammer has

@Kaneki “Raw”
I agree.
DB in my opinion is just too fast paced for a mini map. I never look at it. You don’t have time to look at it.

Also you can remove the minimap in two ways.

  1. In console type “hudturnoff minimap” (however you have to keep doing it every time you die)

  2. In your config set:
    Minimapheight=0
    Minimapwidth=0

Works fine for me.

(farmakoxeris.exe) #38

ok ok as i see everyone is keep focusing at the minimap thing… minimap is not that big deal! as i see it’s an extra help for the fast players to think one step ahead on how to defend-attack while they keep covering the whole map. my opinion, i will keep using it cause for me it works. what do u think about the other points that i mentioned? do u agree? do u find them wrong? cause the more i play the more players i see doing them and inmo are silly mistakes…

Actually, it was someone’s opinion, some players can just refuse to play the uhb-jek-tiv cuz they can carry their team in different ways, i.e. holding choke points, going for kills and stuff like that.

People often think that such players are not teamplayers, when in reality, it’s quite the opposite. Their team won’t have such a hard time when let’s say for example that “non teamplay” player kills 3 out of the 6 enemy players all by himself. Suddenly the enemy team is in a 3v6 situation for a few seconds till their teammates respawn and you have only the “non teamplayer” to thank for that.

Sometimes objectives are not the most important thing. Sometimes just keeping your enemy dead is the important thing. Learning to time the respawn times to make the enemies wait 23 seconds is also an amazing feat.

(farmakoxeris.exe) #40

i never said that the objectives are the most important thing, they are the ‘‘target’’. important is every little thing that leads u there in my opinion. game is way fast paced so i don’t think that is a good idea that more than one player stays behind camping and not ‘‘holding the point’’(as we can see most of the time) and wishes to save the team with some late kills. it’s ok under some circumstances f.e if they are sniper or medic, or they wait their main ability cooldown is almost done and comes in handy! for me players should find and use the gameplay style that makes them more productive for their team.
