Saw a neat little Engineering trick… on any contested Command post, or machinegun nest. If you are unsure of how safe the locale is - whip out your pliers and touch the contruction area for a brief instant - then switch back to your gun to search and destroy. The constructable will of turned white - and the opposing team can’t start building it until 30 seconds have elapsed… handy at any contested build site when under fire…

Um, how do you say in America… “duh?”

j/k… I figured this out a while ago, but it is quite useful–maybe now more people will understand why I quit constructing without finishing the job.

Similar tip (yes, I know it’s obvious): you can whip out your pliers, hold them down to start constructing, and turn around while holding them down. You’ll continue to construct whilst being able to see the area so you can switch to a weapon quickly if necessary.

This also works for building quietly. Tag it once with your pliers, and any additional work you make on the object doesn’t make any noise.

I used this tonight to start repairing the tank on fuel depot, kill the field ops who was nearby, then finish building while three other axis players ran by the tank.
