Enemy Territory... soundless...

I installed Enemy Territory on to SuSE 9.1 Pro Linux computer. I turned it on and I don’t hear sound at all. On gaim I can hear sounds so I know sound card iEnemy Territory s working. I got AC97 built in sound card. Can anyone help me? thx!

First of all the AC97 is and i say this very nicely ‘CRAP’, best is to recompile your kernel with only support for your AC97 built in (via82cxxx), if you’re using a 2.6 kernel use ALSA.

When your sound stops mid-game try the /s_stop command in console (this helped at least within RtCW).

there are these little buttons on your speakers that turn them on. i use them all teh time.

I occasionally lose sound mid game, a quick /snd_restart usually sorts it out.
