RIGHT…erm on enemy territory iam joining a server and punkbuster will kick me …it says RESTRICTION: inadeqaute o/s privileges…its happened to me on cod as well…so some plz tell me what i can do about it?

You need to run et.exe using a user which has admin on the computer. Right-click et.exe, run as… and use an admin account.

As said you need admin rights on a windows XP (and probably windows 2000 as well) computer. You can chack this by clicking on your start button, go to control panel. Choose user accounts (could be something else if you have another language, translated these from dutch version). Click on your account, then look after something like “change my type of account”. If the left one is selected (something like administrator in english i guess) you are admin, then there is something else wrong, if teh right is selected you arent and cant play ET. An admin has to make you administrator then.

on my computer i have a computer administrator already …erm… when i right click on e.t i click run as and it gives ma an account …the only account i have there is “default” and so do i need to create another then?

I don’t know for sure, but I think you should at least try that. Make an account with adminstrator rights and log in with it. If another account exists with adminstrative rights use that one. If that doesn’t work, try reinstalling your ET client (but back up maps & configs). And if that doesn’t work, well perhaps reinstalling Win?
