I can’t be bothered to read Ironmans or the other i-see-cheating posts anymore, if he wanted to prove the cheating thing he could just post a big list of demos and we’d have to shut up, but he can’t even post ONE. I’d like to see maddog post a demo of this guy shooting through a wall too. Demo’s from EtPro/PB servers of course, not some server set up with cheats enabled. Show us a demo of a cheater on one of the Nexus servers, someone please.

Why do’t you tell me what your in-game screen name is and what servers you play on and what time of night? maybe we can see if you are “godlike”. lol I suppose you are so good that it give you the right to say that all of someone’s assertions are crap like you always do to everything I post no matter what thread as you follow me from one to the other looking to pick a fight with your enerauge of similalry-minded dissenters. How about picking one in the game?

I typically play only on very full-ish servers that show up with a ping under 80ms. I have cable. Most of the servers I play on have 20+ players. Not the crappy ones you spouted off that I play on. tisk tisk. Always spouting aren’t ya?

Be warned. I have a large HD and plenty of RAM, so I will demo every second, perhaps several files. Wanna play?

I haven’t read all the replies yet… as I haven’t had time. But for those who say there’s not a problem with cheaters it’s definetly time to wake up. I have demos and a friend of mine has over 150MB of demos of people who are hacking, and we’ll be creating a h4x movie that will show it.

It is certainly not hard to tell if somebody is cheating… (wallhacking, anyway) all one has to do is record a demo of one who they think they’re cheating, and then watch the demo with /r_shownormals 1 basically what this will do is allow you to see players and other entities through walls. So obviously if the demo you recorded is showing the players crosshair moving along with players on the other side of a wall and then shooting immediately (or just before) they come around a corner… then hello… we call that a wall hack.

I don’t think it’s to the degree of CS by any stretch… but it’s certainly becoming more frequent. PB and ETPro doesn’t catch everything… that’s just a fact.

@ Kendle: dammit im jealous! i cant imagine sub-20 pings, it must be great! i live in the northeast US and most US servers tend to be in the midwest or texas, which by misfortune of pipe routes, i ping badly. in fact i typically ping western EU servers better than western US ones. i get a very small handfull of sub 100 ping servers, and rarely a sub 50 ping. VERY difficult for me to find optimal servers with decent ping, in fact the notoriously annoying LockedBox servers are among my best options

all the Half-life mods are horribly inundated with cheater panties. Have been almost from the start because of Quake2 cheats modified to work with HL. I don’t think more than a handfull of honest players have played any HL mod multiplayer for a very, very long time.

@ SCDS_reyalP: very interesting demo u posted. i watched it all the way through twice: once with shownormals and once without. the second time, i instead put on headphones and cranked the volume, made sure all beneficial eye candy was on, like dynamic lights so muzzle flashes help give away enemy positions etc. there are certain times with normals on that i was utterly convinced, then when i watched in regular but paid particular attention to the sounds around “me”, i was sure he was just being very alert to his surroundings. its not easy to do, btw. try to watch the demo with a clean, default etconfig, headphones on, and try to keep your mind focused on sounds. he seemed to nearly always have a subtle visual or audio cue to alert him of an enemy. for example, at one point he seems to have a wallhack, but when i focused on sound, it was clear that he could hear an mp40/tommy battle behind the wall, then heard an allied death cry. that would be his cue to pop out and fire the panzer. i also noticed in the console that /cheaters was typed, and he was listed as [??? win32] instead of [Clean win32]. this always makes me uneasy when i see it, even tho bani himself has said that it is no cause for alarm and may well be a virus. i personally will always be suspect of anyone not listed as Clean, and if they are too much of a n00b to use a PC without getting laced with viruses and trojans and spyware, then they really shouldnt be online anyway (ive always said the internet should require a license like driving).

in the end i was left unsure about lavosity, but it was enough to leave me feeling dirty just watching it. my best guess would be that he had somehow managed to hex edit his game exe in order to enable cheat protected cvars, while still being allowed to play by pb/etpro.

Since you appear to be in CDT, that means it was 2:30am or worse for just about all of Europe. In the UK, which is currently on summer time (like daylight savings time in the US), it was 3:30am.

Rain, if a server is completely empty at any time, um… nobody plays on it, none to speak of. Here’s the lesson for the day. Start ET. Get a list. Now listen catrefully. See all those servers? Well, any of them that are EVER busy, will have at least a few players, even in the wee hours of the morn or at mid-day, ya know? So you see, a server that has no players in it, day or night, is obviously not a server where skilled players play. Certainly not anyone who wants to find serious competition. If this is the kind of servers he plays on, he certainly has no right making his demeaning comments about my skill, which he obviously (LOL) has not seen, good or bad, because he plays with a select few on wholly unpopular servers. Perhaps he simply listed the first few he could get a ping on and never actually plays on. I don’t know. I know this. A list of 8 servers which are all empty at odd hours is a list of totally unpopular servers. lol Good grief Charlie Brown!

I have yet to see a server that was even relatively popular that did not have players in it almost every single hour of the day. I am not interested in joining elusive servers played on by a rankazz few. I am interested in 1 on 1 if he will do it, actually.He provided me with numerous servers… NONE… I said… NONE of which had a single player in it.

Well, I agree AmazinGLarrY, it has gotten ver very bad in ET. I just got through playing on a server (one of the lowest ping servers I found) with about 10 players per team. Every single player I encountered on the enemy team was autoim. Every one. The problem in ET is beyond bad. It’s horrendous. I have a hard time grasping how so many persons can be such losers… how they can be such worthless losers as to want to cheat. It truly is beyond me. The problem is much worse than the kind words you put it in. I guess it’s time to unintall this one. It’s been out for about 1 1/2 years. That’s about average for an id engine game before tha pantyboy cheaters ruin it for everyone. It’s been fun. Let that panties play with each other lol.

I even shot a medic in the head with 4 rounds at point blank and he lived (my oping was about 30). lol Oh well. I kiilled the punk. He knows it. lol

Not true. Nexus have 6 servers and at peak time you often get the 64-player ones full up, maybe 10-20 ppl on the other ones, etc. Go there when I do, with crazy sleeping habits, at 5am yesterday morning all 6 were empty for at least a couple hours. You can’t expect to go on European servers at 3-6am and always find ppl there, it doesn’t mean it’s not full at peak times.
