Enemy Territory File Download Problem

(ZeaL11) #1

I have downloaded Enemy Territory several times from the east coast and west coast servers.
These files are under the link for windows.
Each time I try to install these files they do not work.
The file is suppose to be etwolf.exe and they are not an *.exe type of file.
Could you please look into this problem?
Thank You!

Where did you downloaded it from?

Try from here: [UJE] clan site then click on downloads, i suggest the above one…

You can also try this:

Wolfenstein ET Barracks is where I downloaded them from.
Tried both east and west coast servers several times.
The files are corrupt and do not work!

I just grabbed the file from the East Coast mirror (this one here) and it works fine. What filename did you end up with?

(ZeaL11) #6

I ended up with just Wolfet and no extension to it.
So when I try to run it, the computer does not know how to run it.
I downloaded this from 3 different computers and got the same result.

The good news is I downloaded the file from the link you said, which is the link I already used before but I added the .exe to file and it worked fine.

Not a big problem for me, but for new users it would be.
Thanks for your time and help guys

maybe it is a IE bug?
On another forums I visit they had the same problem.

Wich IE do you have Zeal?

I have IE8 and no problems at all!

I’m using IE8 on Vista Home Premium at my house.
And on my friends computer he is using IE8 on windows xp.
Both gave same results, no file extension.

How big is the file? The installer is around 258MB (though your local operating system mileage may vary).

(Undead_fly) #11

Did you try adding the .exe extension manually? If that works, it’s probably a problem with your browser settings/antivirus/some other stupid program. If downloads are simply corrupted, file extensions are usually not the only things that break. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry to hijack this thread, but it seemed the most recent and relevant. I too have been having trouble downloading the full Windows game from Fileshack. When I click on the public mirror and then click on the ‘download now’ button in the floating box to start download nothing happens. As far as I can tell no download is initialised.

I’ve tried both the east and west coast mirrors and have tried in Chrome 5.0.375.126 and FireFox 3.6.3.

Try filefront.

(Chirs) #14

That seems to be working. Thanks.

I had the same problem, all i had to do was just add the file extension though.
