Enemy Territory error: Can't find a solution anywhere.....

(PhantomTa2) #1

It plays fine for about 5 minutes, then for no reason, even when spectating, it just crashes, I get that stupid windows box that tries to insist on sending the error report to Microsoft, I’ve asked on the Enemy Territory.com forums and they suggested here, any help would be appreciated
System Specs:
Athlon 2100+XP
512 DDR RAM
Geforce 420MX
Soundblaster Live 5.1
All drivers are up to date, even the bios and the VIA chipset, and I have plenty of free space.
When I first installed it, it played fine with no problems whatsoever, then I installed Teamspeak, that’s when they started, so I uninstalled Teamspeak, still happened, so after about a week, I uninstalled ET completely and then reinstalled ET, but it still happens.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated, thanx

IT’S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!!!

theres been quite a few posts about this identical problem.

worked fine for awhile, then constant crashes -

for some heat was the cause - BIOS updates have helped at least one person I know of - different grfx/audio drivers have helped others.

since you state your drivers and bios are up to date - try taking cover off PC

Try looking in your BIOS at RAM timings and AGP settings - enable fast writes if not already - doesnt seem likely b/c game ran fine, then started crashing - but weve all tried to help the various posters w/ varying luck

K, I’ll try that, thanx…I’ve also thought of trying it in Win2K compatability mode aswell, it seems to work for some games, so it’s a stab in the dark, but hey, if it works, I’ll feel at least a little intelligent
