My computer isn’t great, but it DOES meet the minimum requirement so it should work! my computer is a:

32 mb video card
128 mb ram
20 gb hard drive, 8 gb free

put the following setting in your etconfig.cfg file

seta r_ignoreGLErrors “1”

This should skip the GL error and load the program.
I had this issue on a DELL pc I have.

(Shadowkhan) #3

first of all, i can’t find where etconfig.cfg is in my folder (everything is in their default locations so u can just give me the url of where it should be on my computer). Also, i don’t have a proigram to open .cfg files so i wouldn’t be able to open it anyways to edit it. Please tell me where this config file is, and a program i could use to edit the file.

(Flash95) #4

path is C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\etconfig.cfg

any text editor will work

(Shadowkhan) #5

WTF!!! It’s not there! Do i have an incomplete game file or something? When i downloaded ET, I left the download on overnight and in the morning it was gone with no error message and noone touched my computer so i assumed it was done! Should i uninstall, and download it again from a different mirror?

(Stee) #6

Copy and paste this into the run box in the start menu or navigate to it manually
C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\profiles
and look for a file called etconfig.

(Shadowkhan) #7

when i tried searching thru the sart-run box, it said it could not find folder c:\Program. I suspect this is because of the space in the filename of prgram files, and when i tried to rename it, it wouldn’t let me

(Shadowkhan) #8

since no one wants to help me out any further, can someone just host the etconfig.cfg file for just a few hours, and tell me ahead of time when so i can download it. That way i can just place it in my et-main folder.

What you have been told isnt the problem. It is your video drivers that are causing this problem.

Are you from holland by any chance and bought one of thoose Aldi pc’s?

Well basicly it doesnt matter if you have or have not, I suspect you will have a RAdeon card and you will need to update your drivers as the ones you have got are the standard windows ones which do not support openGL.

Run dxdiag and this will tell you what card you have I do suspect it is a ATI 9600 TX

If it is a new pc you should have got a cd for the graphics card install it and you should be fine

You should be able to find a driver from here http://mirror.ati.com/support/driver.html

but if it does turn out to be a nvidia card which I doubt very much you will be able to find the drivers here www.nvidia.com

Also just too add you wont have a config file as I would have thought that if you have not managed to run wolf yet then wolf would not have built your a config file yet!

Best thing about wolf if you try and tweek your config and you cant load up wolf no more just delete your config file and wolf will create you a new default one

Another point on the video aspect, make sure you have DirectX 9 - it is required for the game.
