Elite Cases are too expensive?

I think a poll is the best way to decide this. I feel like the Elite Cases are a little bit too expensive right now and I feel like both Nexon and Splash Damage miss out on a lot of money from people who feel similar.

If you are unwilling OR unable to spend money on elite cases but still feel like participating in the poll, please select the last option: “I don’t want to buy elite cases at all” instead of “no”.
Thank You.

They definitely feel very expensive IMO.

Don’t forget that any changes like this would impact the rest of the economy. Following those two threads : forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/comment/34098/

We can all understand the 1€/$ = 5000 in-game credits conversion.
If they put elite cases at 2,50 €, you end up having them for roughly 12500 in-game credits.
This puts random silver and upper cards for cheaper than a selected bronze card (17,5k) which would be a bit absurd from a pure seller point of view.
But worse, it’d put elite cases near to the price of the gold to cobalt trade-up conversion cost, which is 10k in-game credits or 2€ worth. And everything below should be considered overpriced with a 2,5€ elite case available.

So, in my opinion, halving the price of something is impossible without halving the rest in the crates/cards related system.

To be honest, I feel like SD/Nexon are pretty fine with the pricing as it is now.

It is important to note that elite cases are giving you cards which should be considered as good value for the money you invested in the crate. Not many games with fruit machine systems are this fair with the player/customer. Look at volvo’s games which include a crate and key system. The key is always around 2€, and the odds to get a crappy item worth 0.2€ are like 95%.

How exactly do you know that 5000 credits is worth about a dollar?
Currently the only known way to purchase credits with real money is the USP which comes in at 30. dividing this by 10 gives 5000 credits for 3 bucks.

17,500 for a Bronze card or $3.50

17,500 / 3.5 = 5,000

Note : the USP is excluded of the regular pricing system.

Mercs : 30k or 6€ mercs : 5k equals 1€. 50k or 10€ mercs : 5k equals 1€.

Bronze loadouts :
Bronze card of your choice : 17,5k or 3,50€. 5k = 1€.
Bronze bundle : 100k or 20€. 5k = 1€.

Everything available through both in-game or real money is following that pricing rule.

I admit, that’s a bit straightforward but I guess that’s how SD and Nexon worked for the pricing of items in the game.

they wouldn’t be aspirational - or elite - if everyone could easily attain them

(Eddie) #8

If they would lower the prices, People would go insane

Why? Cause some people bought them for 5 Euro each and then they suddenly go and make the prices drop? hehe… I’d rage

Alright even if the prices are decent from the point of view of comparing. A fancy silver card (because we all know that you wont be getting gold or cobalt, atleast I wont with my luck) versus a Bronze one which is the same except for how they look.

Considering this, 1 CARD (because that sounds like value for money) versus a 30000 credit character.

OF COURSE NOBODY WILL GET THE ELITE CASE! IT FEELS LIKE YOU ARE PURCHASING A JPEG.

The only people who’d buy into this is an idiot or someone with so much money it flows through their butt like the Nile river in Egypt.

Suppose you could consider this supporting the developers but honestly, they don’t paint it in such a way.

(Sinist) #10

You cant really compare elite cases to just buying individual bronze loadouts because elite cases are RNG. When you are purchasing bronze loadouts you know exactly what you are getting.

Elite Cases should be a better deal then spending money on Bronze loadouts, because of the RNG.

Why are you discussing about the price of optional and not even needed ror the gameplay in any way stuff? There is toiler paper out of gold. Expensive, too. Do you need it instead of normal paper-toilet-paper?
Also if you make it with the CR : $/€ ratio, Elite cases are much cheaper than making silver cards out of 3 bronze cards and should cost like 11$/€ to fit the 1$/€=5000CR…

Source.

because the developer needs money to survive. I’m willing to pay money, but currently everything in the game is expensive like hell and not exactly a suitable bang for your buck. 5€ for a shiny card that isn’t even guaranteed to be one for a merc i own hurts the wallet. 2,50 does as well, but less so, which is why i think this will actually help the developer in the long run, because the inhibition to buy elite cases is lower.

Went ahead and ordered one roll.

(Derpfestor) #16

@Sniff thinks they’re not expensive.

(god1) #17

The whole entire cash shop is overpriced, not just elite cases

(Ghosthree3) #18

It kind of has to be to offset the game being free.

(Ardez1) #19

Then don’t spend money. You can earn everything with credits. It just takes time. You can even get the cosmetics if you want to spend that much time. If your focus is gameplay then you are set without spending real money at all.

Well, I would like to spend money on the game, Splash Damage deserves it. The problem is, with the current pricing of the elite cases it just doesn’t “feel good” to spend money on the game.
