Sock
:moo:
might sound n00bish
but on rail gun how do u make those steep hill sides so that u cant clim up them
just i need coople in my map :bash:
and how do you use this, I can’t get any textures into the window, and I can’t export etc.
mowse- did you import them with the texture men (texture>add folder, then select where your textures are)? easygen doesn’t just automatically hold textures (doesn’t read the pk3, you have to unpack the textures you want to use from it or make your own) as far as i know, you have to add them.
how do you bind a texture to the map exported from easygen, it just shows up as red squares and triangles and when i deselect it , it dissappears :banghead:
click the alpha map tab. there should be a bunch of little black boxes. click in one, and select a color for the first texture you’dl ike to use. now that you have the color selected (the little box highlighted after clicking ok on the color), pick a texture from the texture window at the bottom of the alphamap tab. you have to import your textures (textures>add folder) for them to show up there. repeat the color pickin process for each texture you want to use on your terrain. to paint another terrain onto the map, select it’s color, hold shift ctrl and left click.
I had to extract the textures, but when I try to open the terrain maps now in the editor it doesn’t show anything. It did before, but no matter what I do, .map file created by easy gen WITH the proper export it doesn’t show anything.
Another question - and a fast reply would be super
Is it possible to use 2 or more different EasyGen created terrians in the SAME map?

I did all that i followed the tutorial, i painted it and everything in easygen but when i import into Radiant its jusst shows up as a red selection in the shape of my terrain… when i deselect it, it disappears…and not brush mark is left. I have everything the way the tutorial says…Please Help
Need A Medic! Heal Me! Revive Me!
well. im not expert, but i just did the same thing your talking about.
and, after adding the textures and painting my model i opened it up in radiant, and the textures didnt show up, all i got was tile.
i compiled ne ways, and everything actually worked fine in the end, the textures showed up in the game, just not in radiant/
Be sure you have clicked the texturing tab in easyGEN to make sure your not just painting it/
buffa- the tiles are how radiant represents the terrain shader.
psifen- check view->filter. i don’t see anything that filters out terrain, but i guess i’m not certain if it falls into one of those categories or not. if you have anything filtered out, turn the filter off to see if that makes it show up? other than that, i’m not sure what’s happening to make the terrain disappear
–edit
by the way, it might fall under structural?

No, I can see the terrain images in EasyGen on my map, i can paint it whatever terrain i want… I then save(following the tutorial) then import into radiant, i get in radiant and i see a red wavy bunch of triangles…clear red triangles… with no texture…if i deselect it then the whole selection imported from easygen disappears except for the sky box if i make it with one in easygen…though i ahve tried both ways But i can see the shape of the terrain in the red selection, but its textureless and radiant doesnt seem like it can texture it properly… is there anything i do in radiant to fix this … cuz i step by stepped the tutorial and this is how far it got my… its like a hollow skin where the texture should be in the shape of the terrain
Terrain brushes are detail, have you checked the view -> filter menu in Radiant as captain_cadaver suggests? What you are describing is exactly what you would see if you merged a terrain into your map while detail brushes were filtered.
You can also use Ctrl-D to toggle the detail filter on and off.
yeah, i had that happen before too where a whole building vanished when i first started mapping. hehe, i was devastated and almost quit
then i checked the menus and discovered the filter thing.
Yeah, the box for 'Detal" in the View-> Filter menu is checked… i still am very lost… and i know what im doing in radiant… this is odd… maybe some help from Splash Damage…Sock…??
