So while trying to decide on a sidearm for the euston, I decided to try the Drognav and the Ritchie Revolver. I was surprised to see how terrible of a sidearm the Drognav made in comparison to the Ritchie.
They seem to me to do roughly equal amounts of damage, but I immediately noticed that the Drognov quite frankly can’t hit **** unless you look down sights.
When downed the Drognav can’t hit a thing at practically point blank range whereas the Ritchie can hit roughly 3 shots out of six from medium distance while downed and has the advantage of a knife.
What gives?
Drognav

The drognav is a rifle, it’s not supposed to be hip fired and is most commonly used as a primary or situational weapon, not a sidearm. The Ritchie will work better for you based on what it sounds like you’re using it for - hip fired at close range. The Drognav is better suited for medium - long range aiming down the sights. Think of an alternative sniper to the barnett that’s more forgiving if you miss given the higher rate of fire.
That’s just it, I’m using it for it’s range capabilties.
But when I get downed, I’m useless. Literally nothing will hit. Yet the Ritchie, a highly similar weapon damage wise, can hit about 3 out of six shots in the same situation.
I mean, the weapon order implies that the Drognav would be the superior weapon as it is in the same order as an smg, a primary weapon for lights and a secondary for medium whereas pistols are secondaries for lights.
it is better. it has better ADS accuracy, better fall off range, and less recoil. it is a much better sniping weapon.

While I realize it’s just a game and the rules from RL don’t necessarily apply, but trying to aim and shoot a pistol compared to a long sniper rifle should be definitely easier if you’re knocked down and bleeding out on the ground. I reckon if you’re lying on the ground all F’d up, and you’re trying to no-scope people 20 yards away with a sniper rifle, you’re gonna fail. You’d be much more likely to get hits with a smaller, lighter pistol in your weakened state.
Just my

I get what your saying about accuracy when your bleeding out on the ground, but that doesn’t really apply to the Drognav when your standing.
I can see why for balance issues they might reduce the ability to no scope but I think this is total overkill.
I mean, point shooting has been used with rifles in CQC before, but only for situations in which it was absolutely necessary.
Off topic slightly, I wish that mediums had some more viable side arms. I don’t like using an smg if I’m already rocking an automatic.

Rock a light rifle :).
Or if you want to use an SMG, rock the rokstedi, shotgun, lobster or FRKN as your primary.

Thats the issue here. I want to use a light rifle but I think it could use a boost to it’s accuracy when it’s not sighted which would also mean a boost to it’s effectiveness when downed (Im not saying let it headshot at 20 ft when downed just make it useable).
I previously used the FRKN-3k as a primary but passed that gun off to my medic as a primary. And since I’m using a soldier I want to keep the underslung launcher, that means using an AR.
I’m driving myself crazy trying to set up all my characters differently.
Just about ready to give up on the automatic AR’s entirely.
Personally I take to the smgs quite often, I find them better than the pistols since i’m using a one shot rifle (Roksteddi) so it compliments the weapon better imo.
I have a Rhett with a grenade launcher as my primary on one of my soldier classes. I have the tampa as a secondary for 3 reasons.
It has the fastest swap speed and fastest reload speed out of any SMG… plus it has the highest ROF. That makes it the perfect secondary imo for those panic moments, especially with a slow swapping gun like the Rhett.

every SMG in the game, as well as the MP, chinzor, euston, and gottlung all have the esact same rate of fire.
Well, I’m just gonna go back to my old loadouts.
Also, Then why does the Euston have an indicator in game saying it has a high RoF?

I was referring to your point about:

Also, no scoping a sniper rifle is not the way of the Brink. That’s reserved for 360 no-scope headshots in MW2.
Drognav is the rifle I use when I want to snipe down from the Sec Tow Gate. I call it. The Enforcer.
Very ****ing funny. I don’t remember saying anything about supporting 360 headshots.
Relax there, sports fan. I never said you did. YOU asked me what that meant since I mentioned it about no scoping rifle accuracy. Sheesh.
I didn’t ask what it meant. I asked what you meant by bringing it up.
