Really? Ok, sooooo I was saying that no-scoping aka hip firing a sniper rifle in Brink DOESN’T WORK. That stuff only works in Call of Duty. So if you wanna sniper rifle that works great while hip firing, go play MW2.
Drognav
Well, I’m just gonna go back to my old loadouts.
Also, Then why does the Euston have an indicator in game saying it has a high RoF?
it does. smgs have 900 bpm, ARs have 600. aside form euston at 900
Alienating the community one member at a time, cool. Don’t tell people to go play another game, give constructive feedback please. One thing I don’t like about people who feel they have to stand up for every Brink nuance is when their solution is to go play another game. NO, that’s what kills a community even more. Don’t be the last nail in somebody’s Brink coffin if you want more people to play the game.
This forum is messed up, people have taken an “us v them” mentality. People can still enjoy the game and being frustrated by things here and there is completely normal, it doesn’t mean they should give up on the game.
late edit: So what he’s not landing shots with the drognav with downed fire? Something like that is insanely trivial. You’re going to tell him to go play another game like Call of Duty instead? And give up on the 99% of Brink that doesn’t involve downed fire with the Drognav? I get it, you’re a “hardcore” Brink fan (not a fanboy though, right? you guys hate that label), but have some respect for people who may be newer to the game.
I’d love to have a light rifle that can be hipfired. (3 bodyshots shots to kill?) Slightly less accurate than the Ritchie when moving…but incredibly tight when crouching (like the Gerund used to be…or even giving it perfect accuracy when crouching would be great.)
Rockstedi is an AR. I think the Hockler should (after tweaking) fit that role, relatively low rate of fire, high accuracy, decent damage, but insane damage fall-off.

Ha, yeah ok. When someone is complaining that hip firing a sniper rifle doesn’t work in Brink, that’s a joke. It sounds like something from the typical CoD player wish list.
Props to you for being so valiant! You’re his hero! I am such a bad person.
I DID give feed back up top in my first two replies. Reading is fun, you should try it.

Thanks, but I’ve actually only played CoD about 4 times total, didn’t much care for it.
So tell me why exactly why hip firing a rifle does not work.
For someone that added the consideration of realism to their opinion you seem to be perfectly happy to ignore what I said about point firing.
I’m not talking about 100% accuracy or stability from the hip here. I’m just saying that it would be a more useful weapon as a primary for lights AND a secondary for mediums (which is where I think it needs improvement) If it could be hip fired with at least a shred of accuracy.
And I’m not even talking about long ranges here.
You know why I think it would be good? For the exact same reason point firing was adopted. For defense in situations where a sight would take too long to use.

Due to the sniper rifles’ increased damage, if it was an effective hip fire weapon it would be overpowered. People would main it as a hip fire weapon, fire the first shot and have a quick-draw 2ndary to finish the deal if the target was still alive after the first shot (if they had full health, etc).
While I was in the US Military, I earned the Marksmanship Award. We had some spare time (and ammo) at the range, so they let me have some fun firing the M16 from the hip. While I scored a 40/40 from 50 yards out while ADS’ing, from the hip I couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn while hip-firing and that was not on full-auto, but single fire.
Hip firing with accuracy is a very effective technique in these 3 situations:
- Using a shotgun from 20 feet away
- Any 70’s-80’s action movie.
- Call of Duty

How is that OP? From what I can tell that is a popular strategy with the Mossington.
Please keep in mind I’m talking about the Drognav here not the Barnett, that’s a three hit kill on mediums if I remember right.
And to provide some actual figure, I’m talking accuracy to 10 ft tops. And when I say accuracy, I mean only the ability to hit.
Listen if you want to play the experience card that’s fine, but I was taught how to shoot by my father and I’m much more inclined to believe him than a random stranger on the net. Quite honestly I think your wasting your time in even mentioning that.

I don’t care if YOU believe me or not. It is the internet. Anyone can say anything.
I gave my opinion on the matter and why I feel that way since I’ve hip fired multiple guns before.
You don’t agree, guess what, I still don’t care. You stated your opinion, I stated mine. Another typical internet message board thread continues…

I’m not saying I don’t believe you have experience man, just that I don’t believe you when you say;
Are the only times when hip firing is effective.
I feel I could have worded that last post better. You may indeed have experience, but the point is that it has been very different. But I tend to trust my own and my fathers experience over yours.
Anyway, It doesn’t seem that this discussion is going to go any further.
So, sorry If I offended.
Actually the only time I ever hipfire my Mossington is when someone catches me off guard.
Otherwise the pellets spread too much to be reliable, even at close range.

Nexo

Really? I noticed the “unreliable” spread, but didn’t realize that aiming down sight made any difference on the Mossington…
Well I’ve been getting better performance from it by ADS before engaging.
The stats also match up, as you can see the spread is ever so slightly lower when aimed in:

ADS buffs accuracy slightly on the mossington.
and if you want a gun that has range and hipfire, get the revolver. if you want a gun that will outgun your revolver every time at long range, get the drognav. it is a sniper rifle. if you need to shoot someone from 10 feet away, switch to your other gun. if your other gun also isnt build for close range, you effed up and did not select a good weapon loadout.
its that simple.
