Doom3 engine games are loading slow

shure you have no viruses or sth?
maybe try setting hunkmegs higher(i was told it should be 3/4 of ur ram)

It has been while since i played a doom3 engine game (quake4, prey), but when I tried it a few minutes ago, it started up very slowly. I had to wait 5 or more minutes to get in the main menu! :? I tried to restart my pc, but it didn’t help. I really don’t know what is the problem, because when i played prey and doom3 for the last time, it went perfectly. other games, like F.E.A.R. perform well.

Physically disconnect your network connection and see if that makes any difference.

hmm this is weird… i tried to play it today and it just worked fine :lol:
