Anyone else excited?
I already preordered, which too be honest is a bit brash, especially considering the launch state of most games nowadays.

Well Bethesda doesn’t have too bad of a track record, so hopefully it goes well. I haven’t seen anything about it apart from the trailer, and I wasn’t around for the original Doom, but from what I’ve seen it looks like a beat em up with guns XD something I’m definitely into. Do you get anything extra with the preorder?
I never played Doom. Should I play the other before this one if I decide to?
Too bad this will thread will get closed cause it talks about other games.
But yeah I am excited.
May 13th, made by id and published by old B.
Doom’s story is something like this:
Demons came through a teleporter, and now the important people want you to kill the bad things.
I still recommend playing the old Doom games, grab it for like 50 cents on a Steam sale, grab Brutal Doom and Zanondrum/GZDoom and go wild.

I WANT THIS GAME, NOW[/quote]
If you were in Oceania I’d play multiplayer with you.
I personally hope the chainsaw isn’t just canned animations everytime it’s used, I don’t mind the executions but I just hate how the chainsaw is depicted in the remake.
Also, posts not related to Nexon games tend to be deleted by mods.
I’ve always felt that Dirty Bomb draws a lot of gameplay from Doom’s run and gun tactics, what do you guys think? You’re welcome
This is a real Signature.

Deleting is incredibly extreme, and by mods? Not usually.
I have had two of my other game threads closed by an Admin though, however this one seems to be sticking around.
I feel like Quake had more of an impact on the online gaming scene. Doom birthed it, but Quake? Refined and improved it in so many ways.
The chainsaw was rumored to be controlled by the mouse - for example, the player would engage with an enemy and use the mouse as a directional track-pad to choose which direction to cut in, which does explain why it looks very “pre-determined” in the gameplay trailer, as it kinda locks you into that movement until it’s finished. Could be a neat system I guess, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see xD

Ambitious. A bit sad Doom didn’t push gore very hard, especially going back and watching Killing Floor 2 trailers, where they went crazy with gore.

Ehm… I think the gore is pretty much what I expected from DOOM. Stomping heads to pulp. showers of blood after you shot a demon with a shotgun at close range. I mean Killing Floor 2’s persistent gore effects are only really effective when you stay in the exact same area for the whole match while most of the maps have 2 or 3 places that are perfect to defend.

I meant in the sense that Killing Floor 2 partnered with Nvidia to even make some of their gore even more intense, and they really pushed it in a few of their trailers.
id doesn’t seem to have pushed it, but in the few trailers we can see it, it does look impressive. We’ll have to wait and see.
It looks really great but I only wan’t one thing, the face of the DooM guy in the center of the screen.
Also that smile when he picks up a shotgun in e1m1
.
One thing I really hate is that while I’m happy they included E1M1’s theme in some variety, the sound in that trailer sounds a bit like the horrid disease called dubstep, that would be a turnoff for me if they do go in that direction instead of electronic metal. Pet peeves aside, it looks really good, and hope they can capture that feel and atmosphere the original Dos one had. I always remember when Doom would tell me, “Are you sure you wan’t to exit? Dos is much worst.” Good times.
