He doesn’t counter lone wolfing hes the lone wolf incarnate. For example Nader can counter aura med station camp, but so does Fletcher and Fragger, and in some situation skyhammer arty, or Kira. But phantom just designed to be the big bad wolf . Dont even try to come flank, or sneak in objective with your proxy your aura, because hes the new wolf he’ll punish you with infinite cloak and armor and high hp hes designed to be the lone wolf so nobody else can do it because hes the best in it.

Amor need to be removed completely so he cant just run around freely and absorb a few bullet and turn and fight with full hp even when he should be in a disadvantage

Plenty of people are saying it, but I wanted to add another voice about unbalanced he is. Hopefully the devs do realize that most every player feels this way even though not many are going to go out and make a forum account here.

After less than 5 minutes of playing Phantom, I was easily able to get massive kill counts and have the enemy team demoralized. It was definitely not due to any skill or strategy that I had.

Sidenote: Honestly I don’t like stealth insta-kill assassination classes in any FPS games. They add a ton of frustration to the game overall. The fun gained from playing as the assassin is by far overshadowed by the fun taken away from the other players when they die instantly and unexpectedly.

Again its been said here and everywhere else before, but I’ll throw out my thoughts:
-Lower health
-Remove shield
-Katana’s R2 “poke” should not stay active/damaging for as long. I can press it then re aim while the sword is extended and it still does its damage. If I miss the initial poke it should then stop damaging. Also a longer “reload” time after the R2 poke so you can’t swing so fast again.

I’m really okay with most changes people have mentioned as long as something pretty major is done.

The actual real life of phantom is not that high. And if you remove his shield, he will become useless… And over all of these nerfs, people want to remove katana? his only strenght ?I think he is balanced versus teamwork and merc ability counter plus the future red eye merc that will come. But because most people play FFA and don’t do to much teamwork, phantom do well.

Player with low hp have to run vs him and protect/be protected by the team.
Lately, i play only phantom and i got lots of fun. But with him, you just can’t rush like a no brain every time ! If you really play phantom well, you basicaly never engage when there are risks. You play like alien/predator by piking one guy at a time when they play in team (low hp player first).
The other time, kill alone players and be carefull that nobody is behind him when you engage.
When you kill some one, us the guy you killed to lure some one if you know more guys are here.

Playing phantom, it’s an unique gameplay where you are the predator. It litteraly change the path you take, the engage you do and importantly DON T DO.

Like i said, phantom is the predator and you are the prey. And you know what like DB say “play dirty”.

All they really need to do is figure out what to do with his cloak, do they want it to be visible and tanky? Or completely invisible, but maybe nerf how easily he can attack while cloaked, or just remove that entirely, and make it so you have to be fully uncloaked in order to attack. Like a 0.5 second delay.

Yep, every change you do to phantam can completly make him useless.
If you nerf some thing you better choice well and buff an other thing.
If cloak is nerf (shield?) give an invisible cloak. If katana is nerfed (range, damage), maybe make it faster (more dps) so it’s easier to engage multiple time…

But i think the best nerf is at 70% already here (teamwork, heartbeet sensor, turret).
And the last 30% are proxy mine+red eye merc.

That was my intent, I don’t like the idea of Phantom having armor, but I do like the idea of him actual, you know, cloak. Cause he’s a stealthy guy isn’t he? Or at least that’s what he was supposed to be.

It shouldn’t apply at all, that’s the point of cloak.

It makes you invisible so the enemies don’t see you, and start blasting away.

That’s the whole purpose of camoflauge, to avoid detection. If they gave Phantom full invisibility instead of a tanky cloak, he’d be better off, and easier to counter from the victim side of things.

I’m quite competitive in this game and I used to enjoy just even pubbing it until phantom was released. I honestly think Phantom destroys the feel of the game when you’re wanting to become good at the game far as learning how to be effective play by play and not having to watch out for a barely visible blur. I hope i don’t appear to bitch but I think he surely takes away from the game as a possible eSport and more like just another FPS. I think Overwatch will be the one to play in regards to unique characters rather than the TF2 clone that this game seems to be so far.

Phantom got good primary, good health pool, op ability(cloak, shield and cooldown) and badass melee. 2 of those got 2 go.
I dont mind good cloak, but giving a shield to it is plain stupid. Either one or another. I wouldnt mind him becoming completely invisible, but then no shield and longer cooldown of ability. Currently its spam fest, due to its ridiculously fast recharge rate.
And problem with katana is same problem as with all the other melee weapons. They are way 2 strong and secondary attack damage is way 2 high compared to attack speed(its generally weird, how whole melee thing is implemented, its extremely alogical). Either strong and slow or fast and weaker.

nerf the shit out of the katana, phantom immediately becomes a fair champ, the shield and invisibility are quite annoying, however by taking the katana out of the equation and making it more of a vanity item, he’d become a lot more fair than he is now.

yet it’s actually the strongest COMBINED with the invisibility. people get 3/4 of their kills with the katana because it does so much damage, nerf it problem solved.

Does damage bleed through his shield? A good team can counter against Phantom well, but he is a noob-troll extraordinaire :stuck_out_tongue:

If damage bled through, instead of (or as well as) being absorbed this would keep his effectiveness one on one (good luck to ya!) and also make him a little harder to use effectively against more than one opponent, as well as forcing the player to try and avoid moving too much, as being detected at long range will be more of a threat to Phantom.

This might be the best way to keep everyone happy?
