When you get hit your crosshairs jolt up. So basically who ever hits 1st gets a advantage. Not necessarily who has the better aim wins.

I seem to notice it most when aiming down sights at distance while getting shot. It can be very annoying as you know you should of got the kill hadn’t you got Aimpunched in the face.

There’s nothing wrong with Phantom. He has plenty of weaknesses and against a team playing together, he is really hard to get a kill with. However, he is fun to play. But I guess the next patch will make him absolutely useless. He’s weak enough as is, practically any “nerf” you do is going to make him the most useless merc.

I don’t think Phantom is OP; he is powerful against unorganized team, but he fails if the team sticks together which is the point of this game.
One thing I find unfitting about Phantom is his primary. Having an armor cloak with a katana is fine, but being able to uncloak, stab and then kite others to death with SMG is silly.
My suggestion: do something about his primary: nerf its accuracy or firepower.

he’s getting changed, maybe not what you’ll consider fixed, but really, who cares
life will go on and the next mercs release/rotation will fill the forums here and on Steam plus the cesspool that is reddit with pages of vitriol about killin the game, nerf or I quit and the rest of the garbage I read daily, most people with over 30 hrs in game have gone on, since Phantom is now considered meh, except for a couple whinehards

mainly what needs to be done is nerf the katana
it should never ohk under any circumstance, the “poke” shouldn’t last so long, and the hitbox needs to be INCREDIBLEY reduced
really gonna dread the day they give that thing to all mercs if it doesn’t get nerfed by then

And if team is playing together any merc will have trouble to separate and kill lone players, so its hardly an argument to be used. If anything, Phantom actually have a higher chance to kill any1 in this situation, compared to any other merc.

the devs have said they are making changes to ghost boy so is there still really any need to be all “2 waring factions at each others throats” right now? At least drop the hostility until we see exactly what the changes are?

we can always get stuck in again after the changes or if the changes are good for everyone - it could happen! - we find entire new things to disagree on :wink:

My suggestion for phantom overhaul:

  • Remove shield from cloak.
  • Cloak lasts longer.
  • Add a non-visible scan (works same way as vassilis) around phantom when it is cloaked.
  • Make the stealth remain around 95% invisible, 90% while sprinting.
  • Stealth is interrupted (but energy not depleted) on any damage.
  • Stealth allows phantom to pass turrets and mines without activating them (not sure if this is already in there).
  • Stealth allows phantom to move faster.

All of these will make the phantom more stealthy and flanking heavy merc. Removing its capability to just run kamikaze style head on against enemies.

Also phantom is supposedly a recon merc, currently there is no recon happening by it.

Smaller things that could be tweaked…

Removing chopper augments from the loadout cards could drop couple very nasty instakill plays out of the equation. Especially since those loadouts come with the stealth increase aug.

Bigger audio cue from phantom when they activate cloak. Prevents run behind corner -> cloak -> run back to melee. I think this tactic also goes against phantoms theme its supposed to be a ninja character striking from flanks and not some straight in face guy.

Higher visibility when sprinting. Slightly visible when moving without sprinting.

Damage is absorbed partially (half) by the refractive armor. This makes the armor last longer when shot at, but also allows damage to come through.

Lol. Yeah, because everyone calls for every new merc to be removed from the game…

Wait, no…just Phantom. People comparing this to the Nader/Rhino/Sparks whining are deluded. Nobody called for the removal of those mercs, or for them to be heavily nerfed. Most asked for tweaks.

This Phantom stuff is different, by a long shot.

And regarding Red Eye, I’ve been dreading the day he is released since I saw his CB video. I really don’t want to play on a battlefield covered in smoke with invisible teenage mutant ninja samurai running around with katanas with nade spam showering down to try to clear the smoke. The gun play is going to be virtually non existent at that point.

Not my idea of fun, to say the least. I shall wait and see though.

It’s one thing being instagibbed by Frags, and the other to be stunned, not being able to do anything and watching your character be shot. Taking control away from a player is 10x more rage inducing than just being killed.

people seem to forget that it is really only one loadout that has all of this. its the katana based loadout with the kek and choppper (20% melee damage). the other 2 katana loadouts arent nearly as good/op, and the other 6 non katana loadouts are garbage. those 8 phantoms i believe are balanced, the 1 that every phantom plays is not.

if they nerf/balance the class around 1 op loadout, the class is going to have 8 total garbage loadouts and 1 decent one. too me that is more broken than it is now
