Flaming hell!

In an earth-shattering arrival, the latest Objective map is almost here, arriving on the 23rd of May. With the freshly smouldering wreckage of the CDA airship laying in the docks, a war over what remains is set to erupt.

New Objective Map: Dockyard

Set in the dilapidated docks of East London, Dockyard continues Jackal’s desperate bid for the CDA secrets aboard the airship.

In this three-stage Objective and Stopwatch map, Jackal need to airlift the CDA’s armored ‘Holodrive’ from the wreckage, using only an EV, military grade C4, and a ton of bullets.


Objective 1: Repair the EV

An armed EV lies dormant in a warehouse near the docks.

Storm the warehouse to get to the EV, and repair it as soon as you can.

Objective 2: Escort the EV

Lead the EV through the streets, then through the Loading Bays. Use the routes on either side to gain the upper hand as you go.

Once the EV reaches its destination it will destroy both CDA SAM sites, allowing the chopper to approach the Holodrive.

Objective 3: Destroy the Wreckage

The Holodrive is held fast to its concrete resting place; Encourage it free with C4, allowing the chopper to airlift it out. It can be approached from both sides, making rapid rotation between the two routes integral to your attack.

Once rescued, Jackal will finally have their hands on the intel that could lead to the destruction of the Containment Shield…

Dockyard in Ranked Mode

Dockyard will be added to Ranked Mode alongside the release of Ranked Season 3, giving you time to get used to the map before playing it competitively.


Map Narrative

The world of Dirty Bomb is an interconnected series of events. No Jackal mission is executed in isolation, and there is scheming that goes deeper than simple tech heists.

Some changes have been added to the game to make these connections more apparent - See what you can find!


Map Bug Fixes

We’ve made some small tweaks to two existing maps, clearing up some bugs to make the play experience smoother. These include -

Chapel

  • Fixed various collision bugs that would snag players
  • Fixed various texture issues
  • Fixed bug where a CDA light hidden on minimal settings at the final CDA spawn would deflect weapons. Collision has now been removed on all settings
  • Fixed bug where Proximity Mines could be hidden by certain decorative objects in the map
  • Fixed bug where the Secondary Repairable Ramp Objective appeared as a Primary Objective for defenders
  • Fixed bug where the Secondary Repairable Ramp Objective’s mini map icon was not visible to defenders

Underground

  • Fixed bug where Proximity Mines could be hidden by certain decorative objects in the map

Aww, I can’t hide my mines under garbage anymore!

Still weird that they prioritized this over the final objective in bridge though. Mines there literally can’t be shot if placed properly.

As much as I’d hate to agree with you, I must. 2 years for an update with one map and a handful of bug fixes… based on Fire In the Skies, I was expecting something larger.

These patch notes, Splash Damage themselves disgusts me more than ever, as I loved/played/enjoyed this game SOOOOOOO much.

Making new contents? We all fxcking waited for shxt tons of time.

Literally became fossil just for ONE SINGLE new merc? Gave up already.

There is no fxcking excuse for unchanged balance.

Time to collect data? Do they need like 3 years for perfectly balancing the game?

Burst rifle went insane after the RoF bugfix buff at 2015 CW update. Well they did nerfed a BIT twice, but still, just look at Stark and BR right now. SD is fxcking blind if they still haven’t noticed how it outperforms almost every other guns in this damn game.

Thunder STILL depending most of the kills on conc because he has shxtty firepower than other Assaults, Bushwhacker the most inferior engineer in this game, Proxy’s~~ mine ~~C4 manual detonation, Vassili’s insane HP with MP400 and almost no aimpunch MOA - the most OP shxt sniper rifle in this game that makes Felix inferior, LMGs underpowered as fxck, etc.

NOTHING has changed. NOTHING.

Slight bit? yes of course but core gameplay, whole meta is FIXED from when Stoker first came out.

Fxcking sick of waiting proper patch, expecting something might change, and falling in to false hope that DB would be better someday.

Also additionally, to some people who are saying ‘nah there will be always something OP meh git gud’,

THAT is why we shouldn’t let something stay in the same fxcking throne all the damn time.

Does police stop arresting criminals because there will be always crime going on?

Tired of facing these stupid people too.

While we want to do a full sweep of balance updates, we still need to update how we collect our data so we can get more in-depth at how everything is performing. When we get closer to doing this, we’ll let you know.

yeah. That has been over 1 and a half year. Super cool right?

Why can’t SD just speak this out : we need to collect datas for over 5 years to balance out super obvious things that elementary school kids would notice right after playing DB like 5 hours.

We can understand about late new content (though it is SUPER SLUGGISH), because we know it’s making whole new stuffs.

But I just couldn’t bare no more just like when I’ve waited more than HALF YEARS for proper Thunder buff last year.

For instance, changing 160 HP to 170 HP. That’s just changing the damn digits.

Collecting data. Yes. That’s why we’ve waited for THIS long.

So what’s the other issue, or excuses do SD have now, just like @pumpkinmeerkat mentioned at my poll. Chinese chicken company not paying well enough?

I really liked your videos Shoe, and I still struggle to get myself back in to DB, but I am finally losing my tiny bit of hope today. Because of that company you are working for.

Such a shame that nice guy like you has to be the only shield for angry players alone.

Yap, pretty much.

But first, they really should think of what made so many loyal DB players leave this awesome, lovely, godlike game hands down.

Best F2P FPS game dying, not because of severe problem but very simple and super obvious reason : ZERO, or super slightly changing update that can no longer attracts/refresh rather newbie or old veteran players like us.

throwing some trinket events to buy some time, for OVER 1 YEAR.

I am sorry for being this excessive for the first time in this forum, but please do understand that my comment may look like rant, but please notice that all rants have loyal gamer’s painful grief deep down.

I love this game so, so much. Just like the others who’ve ranted before with tragic agony.(Well there are some crybaby rants, but at least I’ve endured this long to rant about something in this forum.)

Watching DB dying, sit down and wait for updates with meaningless pub stomp is the most painful thing in the world.

Mines that cannot be shot when placed on/in the deliverables for the final objective and mines placed inside/under the delivery point container are more problematic though…

i’m loosing again this type of update thanks to the anticheat… 2 month ago i reported the issue of the EAC and you don’t have any fix or patch yet? c’mon DB Staff you can make it better
