If I start as an engineer and deploy a turret and some mines, and then I switch to a medic, do my turret and mines remain?

Why should they disappear? Stuff usually stays until destroyed. I’m sure you also get your XP.
In BFBC2, if you deploy mines as an engineer and switch classes, your mines remain.
In project reality if you put a mine down it stays even after your death I believe it may be on a timer of 20 minutes but thats plenty o time, like the man said why should deployed stuff disappear.
Well if they don’t I would keep on switching back to the engineer class to set up an entire turret farm!
Everyone go engineer, deploy 8 turrets and a feckload of mines on defence, buff each others guns, command post and all go medic probably.

Absolutely. People are thinking in terms of “it’s a turret, why would it disappear on it’s own?”. This is the wrong way of thinking about the problem… A turret is a “benefit” to the team, and players choose classes based on (a) their use for objectives and (b) the benefits they bring. Being able to deploy and switch class while leaving deployments in place is essentially gaining an advantage without taking the penalty - the penalty being not being able to switch to yet another class and get yet another benefit, rinse and repeat

I think not. Aside from being physically impossible, it’s just a tad greedy to boot.
If you decide to switch to Engineer because your side needs a turret quickly, you shouldn’t then be able to switch back to medic to keep people alive while still benefiting from your “old” turret. This isn’t war, where any advantage is taken immediately - it’s a game, where balance is far more important 
Do you keep the revive ability when you switch class?
That would such an utterly retarded game btw, where you could have abilities like the flak jacket, adrenaline syringe, instant backstab and what not all in the same class. Nobody would play that.

I’m sure it’s much like ETQW in respects to turrets disappearing when you change class. It’s very simple. If I switch to a medic, or any other class, I no longer get the Engy loadouts. Period. I think it would be laughable to allow them to stay in play.

if you believe that it will become a spam fest of turrets then say so, I believe otherwise as by the looks of things they are easily destroyed and as quick as one is built one can be destroyed.

I believe in ETQW they did stay but turrets go down pretty easy and if your not engi u cant repair so it usually gets taken out fast and if you watch one of the latest vids they put out you see how fast a turret does go down, i hope thats because it was a lvl 1 cruddy one since a medium just went toe to toe with it and took it out
Its not that but its the same post count whores just trying to look big and clever and its getting really boring now.
They disappear immediately - although they do kind of explode in the process, which may be what lead to you thinking they were destroyed. I really think it should stay that way - regardless of how quickly they’re taken down by attacks. You simply should not retain class-specific benefits when you’ve changed to another class - it’s unbalanced.
