Do you want a vote forfeit option for comp?

If you could tone down the populism a bit and refrain from putting words in my mouth, it would be appreciated. Thank you.

All Im saying here is that it wont achieve what people hope for.
Possibly, it can even intensify the problem.
Definitly, it will drain ressources that could be spent on different things.

On a side note:
Being a majority does mean to be correct. Some time ago the majority believed the world is flat.
A forum poll is nothing representative. Some publishers dont even allow them in their forums due to this misconception. This poll here has 93 votes atm, this is not even representative for the 20x more people playing the game in this second. Its definitly not representative for the tens of thousands that played the game during the last week or even the millions that downloaded the game.
You are just a loud minority and we both dont know what the rest thinks.
Being in the majority doesn’t mean you’re right, when considering every possible aspect. But this is about what we would like or not, not what is a general truth. And people do know what they want, even if they might regret it later.

Now your argument about this being a small portion of the playing community is bullocks, because those who don’t bother coming on the forums don’t have the love for the game that we have. Consider it as all non voters voting blank. You’ve never seen a presidential campaign being called off because more people didn’t vote than those who actually did.

So it doesn’t matter what the majority overall thinks, because of those who want to express their opinion, which granted is a minority, you’re even a much minor minority. And the majority of those who wish to share their opinion actually want a vote forfeit.

You really believe your love for the game story, eh?

Most people just play games and dont waste their time on forums. Why you believe your are more worth than anybody else enjoying the game, cause you camp a forum? No, sir.

Also the 3 democracies I lived in my life so far all had big controversies in the past about sinking voter attendance and how legimated parties are if less than 50% of the population have voted.

Like it or not, your poll is by no standards representative. Maybe it reflects broader parts of the player, maybe it doesnt - we dont know.
All you got is a discussion that would have been already deeply burried in this forum, if I hadnt bothered answering you.

On a side note:

Being a majority definitely counts when it comes to entertainment. Give people what they want.

that might apply to a big idea, not sure it applies to stuff like ‘basic functionality’ and ‘bug solving’

Forfeiting at its core, is a circle jerk of ragequitters.

From you quoting one of my suggestions
1. Is the only thing that might actually reduce frustration, but since rank can be faked as you said it isn’t a guarantee that the lower rank will not be crushing the higher rank team.
Later in the thread while defending your idea.
the only way to remove frustration that is currently befalling the majority of players is vote forfeit.
So, It’s quite clear, you don’t even know what you want.

Not to mention what @Fireworks said about players that stomp having less time in games because everyone forfeits to them. So it would increase frustration for part of the player base too.

I gave you much better alternatives than a useless vote. Especially one that I would always vote no to based on principles. I wouldn’t be the only one either, even if they have different reasoning.

You can’t escape the fact that you’re frustrated from losing. Adding a forfeit vote doesn’t make you a better player, so what can it really accomplish? It just expedites your losses and takes away meaning from comp because people can just end the match without playing. Stupid.
