Do you like the Mission: Play X Rounds of Execution?

(gg2ez) #21

The question isn’t “do you like this mission”, it’s " do you like this gamemode".

Pretty self explanatory really. If you don’t like Execution, you don’t like these missions.

(uWotm8-AU) #22

Yes, after months of playing the same maps over and over and over and over again, and then being verrry let down by the horrible map dome, execution brings some much needed variety to the game.

The only thing I would change about execution is the fact that when low level players quick search a match they get placed in execution. It’s just not fun playing with or against headless chickens. Let them quick join the max level 5 servers please. That would benefit both them and the people wanting to play execution.

(Aazhyd) #23

The amount of rounds you have to play is too high. And don’t get me started on the “win X execution rounds”. That quest is horrible.

And indeed, they seem to come up way too often.

(Captain_Forward) #24

I did these missions before, but got sick of this gamemode really fast.
Never ever.

(Faraleth) #25

Instant trash for me - same with any other missions that make me do things I don’t want to. What’s the point in playing something if I’m not having fun? I’d rather just enjoy myself than be forced into something for a few credits as a “reward”.

(Naralin) #26

I don’t know why but two days ago I tried (maybe because it was a 750 credits one) : play 25 rounds.
It took me like 1h30 to complete without ending my two others missions as well.
Being someone who barely have time to play during weekdays I feel like I wasted my time. Never again.

@Faraleth you are completely right, I didn’t even have fun.

(Faraleth) #27

@Naralin I’m in the same boat right now :frowning: I’ve barely had time to fit in maybe an hour a day over the past few weeks, sometimes going a couple of days without playing due to pre-christmas crunch period XD haha. So I see very little point of grinding out a few credits on a boring mission :expressionless:

(Izzy) #28

I am a broke ass, so I do the missions. As some other would say: “I am not gay but 20 bucks is 20 bucks”

(Borganism) #29

Its not the mission that makes me stay away from Execution, its the mode. It doesnt fit with how I like to play. Also, with so many new players who dont know the game being forced into the mode (thru quickjoin) its always a teamstack and stomp.

As a side note, I can finish a ‘earn 15,000xp in Obj/Stopwatch’ in a game or two ,even the low level execution mission take me over 3 games to complete. I had one mission that took me 2 hours to complete. I haven’t done an Execution mission since.

(hippie) #30

this mission is the only reason i play execution… like everyone else… if anyone says that they play execution for fun… i won’t believe them

(Dirmagnos) #31

I dont mind the mission in general.
What does pisses me off greately is their frequency. Theres like 90% chance for either play/win mission to popup on each reset.
In last 4 days out of 11 resets ive got one of those missions 9 times(week prior to that i had 15 Exec missions out of 18 resets and lousy 4 Objective/Stopwatch missions in total). This is not normal. No other mission type comes even close to that frequency.
Ohh, and yes, initially i was like 50/50 to play that mode or not initially, now im 100% in “frak it” mode, simply because it pops up all the friggin time.
I. Dont. Friggin. Wannt. To. Play. That. Mode… frak off

This whole idea is broken. Whole point of those missions is probably to promote new game mode. But, as always, person behind idea didnt really think it thru.
First of all, nagging “Play the Execution, play the Execution, play the Execution…” by constant spam of Execution -related missions have an exactly opposite effect on some ppl(like me), who start to dislike whole Execution idea in general, even without playing, simply because of that annoying sh!t. And since i dont need creds i will not gonna play that mode on principal. Becasue im friggin annoyed as hell by frequency of those missions.
And second, since there are plenty of players who need creds, constant spamming of those missions lead to farming. Where players who are either indifferent or dont want to play them, still join in, but either blatantly camp(so that rounds just would go by) or are not putting much effort into game. Resulting in subpar experience for those players who actually want to play that mode.
In the end, again, as it was with competitive missions, everybody loses. Person resposible for mission design simply dosnt learn from previous mistakes.
And, ffs, add ability to “shuffle” missions. Allowing each mission to be flipped, once, exchanged for a different mission of same value and type. Like flipping Stopwatch 750 cred mission will result in a mission that is set either in Objective or Execution mode, selected randomly, for the same 750 cred value. Or gamble Support exp mission for either Combat or Mode mission. Or one merc mission for another.

I don’t mind playing 1 or 2 games of Execution, but when it asks for 30 rounds, that’s between 3 and 5 games. Also, the “win x rounds of execution” should be removed, it encourages team stacking and makes the games unbalanced. And what’s even worse, is that there’s a higher chance you’ll get an execution mission when compared to stopwatch or objective missions, as 6 missions exist for execution, whereas only 3 exist for stopwatch and objective.
One of the few good things about execution is that your missions update after each round is over, so if I only have to play 2 more rounds, I can just join a game of execution, play 2 rounds and leave and my mission will be done.

Wish people would stop comparing Dirty Bomb to CS:GO. They’re 2 completely different games. I don’t even get the comparison most of the time… It’s like when people compare every shooter to Call of Duty (on consoles mostly). The same goes here with CS:GO except we’re on PC.

I’d much rather play Execution on Dirty Bomb. I love the way it is now for the most part, but it definitely needs tweaks.

I love these missions as well.

(watsyurdeal) #34

Personally I hate execution for a multitude of reasons, but I hate the concept of mission that you have to play a specific mode to complete or use a certain merc.

I’d rather just have rotations of the 1000 credit versions of Hunter Killer, Waterboy, and Objective Monkey.

(wiski) #35

I like it more than the ‘WIN X Rounds of Execution’, but I still usually drop them anyway.

(Szakalot) #36

I like the gamemode but I still don’t like the mission.

(aRagRappy) #37

I’m surprised after we had them remove “win X matches” missions a couple times before that they would just add another one when they released execution. They also need to drastically shorten the time needed to complete, playing 30 rounds can be a pain. Plus time played for one game of execution can easily match a game of objective, but you can complete the objective mode mission in one go unlike the execution one.

Dropping all of the new players into execution hurts the game mode and experience of completing these missions since the one life per round is bad for learning the game and it isnt even the main mode of dirty bomb and makes the game mode really unbalanced. They have perfectly good max lvl 5 objective servers that they should be using instead for the new players. Objective mode is very similar to stopwatch so players can learn the main game and it is very relaxed with the ability to respawn and keep trying things and not having to worry about beating the opposing team’s time like the in stopwatch.

I certainly dont hate execution, but I think the way they handled it in regards to the missions and throwing the new players there instead of max lvl 5 objective servers was very poor.

(TheVulpesFox) #38

I will play execution in my own time, stop forcing me to play it EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!

(CagdGoose3) #39

When it comes to game-type missions, I abandon all but the ‘Objective’ mode missions. I primarily play ‘Objective’ due to the fact that it is my favorite game-type. So keeping the ‘Objective’ mode missions only benefits me.

Abandoning the missions I won’t unlock anytime soon helps keep them moving through so I don’t get caught on them. I don’t mind if it’s seen as “wasting missions” because I have to wait a whole ‘x’ amount of hours until I get shuffled a new hand; I’m not playing the game purely for the completing of missions.

(GiantGiant) #40

Im fine with WIN X ROUNDS but play 30 rounds is little too much
