Add the singularity generator from blood II: The Chosen!

(If you’re looking for something challenging, as I imagine it would take a lot to pull that off.)

You can actually get the blood II source from fileplanet, but not sure how much good it will really do you, written for an entirely different engine with an entirely different coding style and all.

But if you want to take it on, good luck to you!

A few enhancements I would like to put in my mod:

  • Spawn heavy weapon soldiers, with their light weapon, so they can run faster.
  • Sorting the map/campaign list
  • Adjustable dynamite timer
  • Gamma adjusted screenshots

Usefull functions for map developers:

  • Spawn dummy players. Allows a developer to switch between multiple ‘players’ quickly.
  • Displaying bounding boxes (and hopefully triggers)
  • Teleport command
  • Ability to see what server max rate would be acceptable.

I got a strange idea: if a general is killed by an enemy, it weaken the entire team this general belongs to.When he respawn everything return to normal (eg: longer stamina recharge time or enemy not visible on command map even if covops are presents, or longer respawn time).

Another strange idea: add enhanced scripts capabilities to allow map makers to do more interactive / complex maps.

A very strange idea: reward those who cares for the objectives with an xp gain multiplier (eg: when a guy is close to an objective, every xp gained is * by 2).

Another very strange idea: engrs can hide a control device in the opposite team command post. The engr’s team will then be able to hear the enemy comunications.
You can guess your command post is hijacked because it makes a different sound.

That’s actually a pretty good idea.

*2 is really high, maybe *1.25 is better.

Since this has to do with intelligence I’d go with the covie for it. Then have it so covies can “spot” the device (just like spotting mines), and when it’s spotted it disappears…or needs an eng to disarm it.

There’s probably no way to do this but i’ve always wondered. Punish the guy with the worst kill/death ratio by making him spawn the whole next round with PWNED written in red letters on his back.

Implode engineers who do nothing but run around and never build CP, repair vehicle, etc? Same with medics who don’t heal? Hehehehe.

I would love to see a mod that uses modern weapons like M16’s or MP5’s with modern uniforms. I have a couple of FPS games that are set in the present or the future, but none are like ET, some do have a degree of team work, but not like ET, my serach for a game like this brings me back to ET and the hope for a mod that uses todays weapons. I have just seen a mod that has added new weapons and iv seen a couple of skins for uniforms so i dont see any reason why it couldnt be done, if one like this exists then please, enlighten me.

Both Urban Terror and True Combat feature modern weapons, and are allegedly porting to the ET engine. There is also a vietnam mod in the works.

Hi!

What if we had a mod that supports anagliphic 3d mode to play using red/cyan glasses? It is very simple to be made: we need 2 cameras as player’s eyes. The left camera will use only the red channel and the right camera will use the green and blue channels of the RGB channels. First, blit the right eye camera. Then, using the layer mode “screen”, we blit the left eye camera. That’s it! Now we can play with our red/cyan glasses and have fun!

What do you think???

The game already has stereo rendering support (I don’t know if it works, not having any stereo hardware). Assuming it works, doing this with an opengl wrapper should be fairly straightforward. You might get lucky and find one already written. A quick google gives http://www.stereo3d.com/eyescreamlight.htm

note that punkbuster and etpro anticheat are quite likely to kick you for using an opengl wrapper.

I don’t think the internal stereo support can render in a way useful for anaglyph glasses (but I could be wrong…) You could probably add support for it in a mod (the hardest part would be coloring the scene), but keep in mind that this means you’re drawing the entire scene twice. ET is not known for its über framerates.

The nvidia driver linked above allegedly supports anaglyph stereo, and ET, but I couldn’t get it to work.

r_stereo 1 seems to make the game quit because it is unable to find a pixelformat. I assume this means the opengl driver isn’t reporting that it supports left/right buffers.

Well, i have nvidia card and i tried the nvidia link above and… it worked! But for anaglyph display it got a bit weird to play (P4 HT 2.6G, 512DDR, Nvidia GeForce FX5200 128DDR). Maybe i should try more times until i accostume. I think that a vga glasses would do this job better than anaglyph glasses for its clean image. I notice that performance in ET was affected for slowing rendering. Well, even if i dont play ET in this mode, i think its really cool knowing that my card is more than i thought! Thanks for REYAL and RAIN!!

Speaking of mods, how about this:
Nade Burst: a level 4 engineer that has full grenades may choose to simultaneously throw all of his nades in all directions, also each nade will be pre-primed 4 seconds so that the circular explosion is almost immediate. This will use up all of his ability meter, and will either reduce his life bar to 1hp, or you could set this as a last-ditch suicide move that would kill himself.

Similiarly you could have a level 4 medic do a healing burst and instantly heal all friendly units within a certain radius, at the cost of his own life, maybe even include the gibbing of his corpse so this move wouldn’t be exploited by groups of medics.
