Always on, except toggle for MG-42, where you need to turn it off to see downhill past the muzzle. I find I lose track of what weapon I have in hand with it off. Themuzzle flash never bothered me much, plus I just like seeing the weapon shoot. More realistic.

I used to have a toggle for it being on with 120 FOV and off for 90 FOV, along with some sensitivity changes. But since I reformatted and I’m too lazy to create a new config, I play the game with mostly default settings. Everything turned on high, 1024x768. =)

I’ve actually been playing better with everything defaulted. woo.

Weapons off for the same reason as sick boy, the flash. Flash is very useful on maps like radar where its dark, you can see ur opponent better.

your flash settings only effect what you see, your enemies will see your muzzleflash depending if they have r_dynamiclight 1 or 0 (or 2). you can’t control what they see.

What Abraxas means is that it can be hard sometimes to see enemies on Radar through your own flash.

yeah, I have flash on but gun off. That way I dont see my own flash by I see the enemie’s flash. Therefore on maps like radar where its dark, I can see them from afar.
