I like fake nicks, but hate when other ppl come on our server with, especially when they are arseholes

Fair enough. Though, a lot of the top players (at least in Europe) just use a name without colors or clan tag when playing on public (low-fi). I’m just saying. :slight_smile:

Meh. I don’t see the big deal with using a pub name. Sometimes you just want to kick back and relax and play on a shrub (or should I say ETPub now? Hmm) server without people expecting you to play like a pro. Then again I’m not in a really competitive clan so it’s not like anyone would recognize me anyway. :slight_smile:

Mmh play 2.55 and there is no way to go in stead of shrub and etpub… No wonder everyone thinks all unpatched players suck (Some like me are very bad yes…)

Iv’e never heard of fakenicking being the ‘bad one’. Think about it; In real life, aliasing is using some elses identity - look at all these spy/crime programs on TV - “sir, this suspect has another 3 aliases named under him”.

Aliasing is an offence in all leagues etc. Fakenicking is using a fake nick, not a fake identity. Iv’e fakenicked a few times, but usually it ended up in me just changing to that nick for a while, then returning to my old one. Don’t see anything wrong with it.

The definition of fake-nicking, as I’ve always understood it, is using someone else’s nick. That’s not on and I’ve never done it. The definition of fake-nicking as used in this poll, as I understand it, is using a different nick to the one you usually use, in which case I do that al the time whenever I go on a pub just to play, rather than to socialise. Having said that, I only use 1 other alias and everyone I care to know it knows it, so probably a pointless exercise.

you do also have a point. you cnat have the not so pro players out there bugging you every minute for a lesson or somehting in gaming.

I don’t fake-nick, I just never use the same name often. I only borrow it from the vast collection and sensical randomizations of letters, numbers and colors…
then I return it to which it came…the far reaches of my thoughts.

I use the name ./Aimb0t* sometimes if im in a good server… and this guy copied my name… still uses it in that server to… just cause he thought it looked good… very annoying…

if I’m not playing to well then I’ll put on a random name then if I’m playing well I’ll put my normal nick on :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: its all about the vanity
