Then you would have to remove sparks RevivR instagib too (Sometimes happens)

And i think that’s a bad idea tho. Snipers should be deadly and you should stay out of their aim. If not you’re getting punished and instagib is a good way to punish.

besides landing headshots in a fast paced game like this may be hard for most players (especially those new vasili lovers that can’t even land bodyshots)

I’d say keeping the aimpunch like it is now OR a little bit less for ADS on snipers is a pretty good nerf for vasili. However i don’t think vasili/sniper needs nerfing at all.

I do think aimpunch should be toned down.

I’m not sure, I don’t really think sniper needs a nerf but that’s probably some bias since that’s who I main. Giving him less hp is a possibility so its more dangerous to stick your neck out.

It happens when the over kill damage passes past what would be required to gib the corpse. So it can only happen on really low health players, and only on mercs with under 129 hp.

Man, does anyone else just LOVE seeing @Nail get proven wrong every time he decides to post a comment? By multiple people, no less? Feels good, man.

I saw a few people say the current aim punch helped tone down turrets and I have to say after playing a ton, I disagree 100%. Turrets are even more powerful now. They punch you harder and provide the player with a shield. It’s even harder to hit that little head now.

And don’t get me started on botters. There’s literally no counterplay now when they aren’t even feeling aimpunch and you are.

We’ve been hearing a lot of that lately, how about saying what exactly you’re talking about internally, its mostly been “wait and see” “were testing internally” “were working on it”, it just feels weak. After the phantom mess, why don’t you want to talk more openly with the community about these issues.

It should be toned down on everything except sniper rifles. For snipers, it should be turned up.

First define what exactly is aimpunch, then i can decide if i want it or not.

I mean when u eat bullets it should affect you somehow…

If aimpunch is just a visual thing like crosshair jumping a bit, its not a problem for me.

If aimpunch affects your weapon recoil/spread… well then u just need to know how to counter it (aim lower at the body for example).

I dont really care if there is aimpunch or not as far as u can still win an aim duel despite not having first hit (for example in Enemy Territory there was quite high aimpunch, but if u had better aim u could still kill your opponent).

Actually, I don’t think snipers should be affected by aimpunch either. The game’s mechanics should be consistent for everyone. I’m not really sure how to balance out snipers without aimpunch but maybe making it so they can’t instagib and lowering the RoF on the snipers would help. That way if you play as a team, even a good sniper couldn’t single handedly lock you down.

Not being able to instagib would still not be enough though. Right now if a sniper is looking at you you have a chance to live by shooting at him. If he got no aim punch at all he’d just take some damage then down you, then finish you in the follow up shot.

Assuming he even hits. Most snipers struggle to do that in general. The follow up shot also has a pretty hefty delay.

Sniping isn’t the easiest thing in this game, there’s a lot of cover and forcing people into close quarters, where it’s even more difficult to use a sniper rifle, plus there’s the generally quick movement in this game. Even the best snipers wont be 100% consistent without triggerbots. Even if aim punch and scope sway was removed.

Sure they’ll kill more than they do now because their aim wouldn’t be interrupted as much, but why shouldn’t they get the kill if they can aim well enough?

It’s a great mechanic actually. I don’t see what the big deal is. You got hit by a bullet, bullets hurt, you aim gets slightly shifted… BIG DEAL. Learn to play with it and be the first to shoot.

It’s being changed next patch, probably to be more in-tune with what the community wants. So yea…looks like we won’t need to learn to play!

-In the next update we will absolutely for sure see changes to aimpunch and Phantom.

-Aimpunch will be more in-line with what the competitive community wants.

I don’t see the problem with that, after all the main strength of a sniper is holding lanes and working picks and sniping isn’t easy against players with good movement. Yeah, you won’t be able to whimsically run around corners but if you shoulder peek, play off your teammates, and use the parkour system to your advantage you’ll be almost impossible to headshot.

Why would you be more difficult to headshot than now? Surely it would be easier since their aim is unaffected.
