Can we just remove this flawed mechanic from the game already? It doesn’t suit the pace of the game, belongs only in CoD BF etc where the first bullet should decide the fight. If enough people speak out we can finally get this abomination of a mechanic removed.
Do we really need aimpunch?
I wouldn’t say it “needs to go”, but I sure don’t like it either. I’d prefer it removed I guess.
EDIT: In revision, yes it needs to go.
aimpunch is the most retarded mechanic in fps games, if you shoot someone first then the only advantage you should have is that you shot them first
Don’t like it, don’t need it in an "action"game. Especially when 1on1 situations are less likely.
only way I see it somewhat justified is as a means against snipers, but I’d still like it gone
Just get the focused augment and it will never trouble you again. It works for hip fire even though it only mentions ADS.
I feel like aim punch should only come into play while aiming…but then again that’d make aiming more useless than it is already.

So it’s not normal your aim flinches if you get BULLETS INTO YOUR BODY?

If you’re trying to argue realism…sorry but that doesn’t really work.
It’s a game, it’s not meant to be realistic. It’s meant to be fun, if aim punch added something without taking away anything it’d be fine. In other words, countering Sniper but not making hipfire fights annoying or frustrating.
Feels necessary to avoid the domination of (too good) snipers. The lack of aimpunch would actually be an insane buff to everything long range focused, and I don’t feel like Vassili really needs one. Good snipers are already unpleasent to deal with.

if my character can sprint for hours straight without breaking a sweat, jumping from wall to wall and even surviving a few headshots, yeah I expect this guy to at least hold his weapon steady when getting scratched by bullets
if they havent fixed it yet so is it still bugged and doesnt work at all. atleast last patch it did not work.
btw before this patch it was more or less fine with aimpunch but now with last patch its freaking retarded. it should either be taken out completly or only works if you are ironsighting your weapon or if you hit a person in the head but it shouldnt do it all the time. i got attacked by a sparks who shot me in the stomach yesterday and my aim was in the sky beacuse her empire9 shots so freaking fast. this is a stupid implementation, same with the reviving people delay thing. fast fps games shouldnt have anything like that at all. and as someone said if you hit someone first the only advantage you should have is you hit him first not having his aim in the sky for the rest of the fight. And if you are bad enough and you died even though you got in the first shot when you really should of died. i can also see how the heavy people get a bigger aimpunch, atm the health different on like fragger and rhino is to high i think against the aimpunch the weapon they have give so its stupidly hard now to kill a fragger or rhino alone, before it was hard but now it is freaking impossible almost.

Not speaking about realism, but about the game mechanics. Realistic or not, you should feel the impact of bullets.

If you’re Vasilli, yes, because you have the range advantage, with other mercs, hipfiring, no, absolutely disagree.
This isn’t a game where your aim should be thrown off because someone landed the first shot, you’re already have less health than they do, you shouldn’t be forced to aim better on top of that just to get a counter attack in.
when they gave some merc more HP and others less HP they sort of already messed with that equation didnt they
It’s a terrible mechanic that just gives even more of an advantage to the person who initiates, which innately has a huge advantage to begin with, so why give them even more?
