DLC, what's next?

(Sanch3z) #21

Looking at the map of Ark there are many areas that arent in the game yet. I think there will be future DLC but they will try to change for it. I for one WILL NOT PAY FOR DLC FOR BRINK unless some magical phenomena happens where tons of people start playing it again.

(BROTOX) #22

I would like to see more DLC for Brink but how can I have any confidence in SD after this whole fiasco? If we’ve been put through the ringer for free DLC, who in their right mind would pay to go through this all over again?

(Tazay) #23

After this DLC, if it ever comes out, I believe Bathesday/ SD will abandon brink really. It has barely any support other than the few dedicated players it has.

With this whole DLC fiasco its not worth it. My friends and I had huge hopes for brink. The Dev commentaries, and videos were great, the website pre reviews were awesome, everyone loved it. Then it was released. My favorite thing that i saw was all the reviewers were like “So this demo is awesome, when do we download the real game?” My friends who wanted it now mock me for being the only one out of all 10 hopefuls that wanted to play together to waste my money on it. I can’t even trade it in as my local EB games has close to 20 brinks on the used shelf already. Brink has barely any content to support it, and the DLC is taking too long.

Saying something is going to be released in July is a promise to us fans. Saying you are trying to is still a promise. We expect it in July. Not at the very end/ mid august. SD screwed up there giving us a month to focus on. They should have said “Sometime in the summer/ early fall” not “July” Truthfully DLC wont save brink either way. From what I have seen it just gives us new maps, some items, and thats it. Nothing really worth DLCing.

Sorry to say last time I buy a SD product. Though Bathesda is still awesome. THEY know how to release something on time that isn’t a demo. Being someone who wants to get into game development I’m somewhat disgusted at the thought of doing something like this. ><

Just my little rant.

R.I.P Brink

(Darksider) #25

Just makes me wonder what’s going on over there, this is the last week of July, next week it’ll be August, Most likely DLC will pop up this week since all 3 platforms now have the new achievements listed in their systems, if not then something is seriously wrong.

(Terminator514) #26

This DLC launch is ridiculous, I just can’t comprehend how it has been handled so poorly with a well-know developer AND publisher.

(SinDonor) #27

I think I would consider it had been handled MORE poorly if they released it with the bugs they found while in MS/Sony certification. I have no problem waiting a few more weeks for free DLC while they get the bugs out.

(BROTOX) #28

And when that couple of weeks becomes a couple of months I’ll check back in to see if you’ve maintained such composure…

(Hippnotic) #29

Couldn’t have said it better myself…

Took them an entire MONTH to realize that it had bugs? How did they not catch them BEFORE putting it through certification? Do they test ANYTHING before releasing it? Seriously?

BRINK was obviously NOT tested on X360/PS3 before release. Gotta love PC gettin’ all the love. Hell, they have the TU for weapon tweaks BEFORE US. Then they whined about their stats site (and got it). So now wtf is the holdup?

Only reason I don’t play BRINK atm is because i’m awaiting that TU more then anything. Til then it’ll collect dust…

Basically having 3 months (almost 4 soon) to work out anything with the DLC and whatever else. Must not be enough time? (sarcasm)

(ScumBag) #30

Just FYI - since it seems like you’ve not spoken with an owner of the PC version…

PC players got a crappy console port.

(Gradis) #31

a crappy console port that made an awful pc game methinks.

(FireWorks) #32

a crappy console port that made an awful pc game which drove away most players already

Extending sentence game!

But there is light in the end of the tunnel for those that remained… In about 6months and 20 patches we might get a proper PC game!

Maybe they should have skipped a PC version all together, seeing as how PC players are the ones saying that the game blows.

(FireWorks) #34

Good idea to trash the 10year experience in development and the fanbase of their former work. We played their games for years and loved them for a lot of reasons, mainly because they were awesome. Its sad, that most people nowadays seem to prefer dressing up video game character like Barbies instead of an actual game with a certain depth. I feel sad for this fail.

(ED209) #35

Lol… I don’t remember feeling the PC love when Brink kept crashing because I dared to have NVIDA card installed… waiting to see what Brink DLC does for us PC players

(Spendlove) #36

Actually I like dressing up as you. Hawt.

(ZionDelhamorte) #37

lmfao hahaha

(Bundyone) #38

I’ve got hope for more DLC in the future, since they called the Agents of Change the first dlc for Brink when it was first announced.

(burawura) #39

This game has to be the biggest joke in fps history. I can log into half-life deathmatch, a game from 1998, and find better games with more players. All of you Splash Damage employees that worked on this game should be ashamed of your piss-poor effort and execution. I may never work on a video game, but at least I take pride in my work.

DLC won’t change a thing. The only hope we have to get some redeeming value out of it is the mod tools.

(RGS) #40

I’m really pleased with my PC version actually…

… + I hate “crappy console ports.” Brink doesn’t feel like one to me.

That said, I only got the game a few weeks ago so am somewhat late to the party + I don’t mind playing against the bots, although they’re pretty easy (even on ‘hard’) I still enjoy myself.

Would be good if the bots had a harder difficulty, ‘nightmare’ or something, as with ‘hard’ their reaction times + aim isn’t quite good enough for a proper challenge (certainly one on one). Your AI team mates would have to do a better job at co-ordinated strikes though if that was the case.

Going up against a bot team of 4 ‘hard’ + 4 ‘nightmare’ opponents would be nice.

Also - I’d like to see Killls and deaths added to the scoreboard, even if it’s not the primary focus it is something I want to know. I always have the most kills (playing bots remember…), I’d like to know by how much…

(oh, the bots are a challenge on ‘Be More Objective 2’ with my level 20 character ;))
