has anyone seen any updates on the dlc release date ? (for PS3 anyway)
DLC Release in June ?
I’m a little annoyed that everyone was told the DLC would be released in june. And it’s 3 days into July. They said then… early july. Well at the end of July if nothing comes out I might just lose my faith in them. I stopped playing because I didn’t want to have to have a shock with all the weapon’s changes when it drops. And I love brink a lot. But I make it a habit to trade in games I haven’t played for a month or two.
To be honest they should have a release date for us now… its into the begining of june,
They said it should (was planned) to come out in july. Then said nothing atall for the whole month untill right at the end of july saying they have been delayed and wont be out till early june…
Now they are saying nothing atall, unless its not coming in early june they should have a release date…
Ive lost trust in them and it really wouldn’t suprize me if it comes very late of june or even next month, maybe with them saying nothing for 3 weeks from now and then releasing a 30 second video of the maps…
Frustrating company who looks down on its customers as if they’re peasants, how hard is it to tell us the truth or give us some form of update every now and then. But incording to them we dont deserve the small effort to be spoken to… wasnt like that before the game came out thats for sure… they couldnt shut their mouths telling us how good their game was…
I wouldnt say they thought we were peasants, more stupid easy marks they can trick money out of. It’s not like they even look at us as repeat customers.
Yea I’m getting kind of antzy, in a day or so if we don’t get any info I’m going to return the game while I can still get 15 bucks and put it down for bf3. I’m ashamed I let splash damage trick me thinking a dlc was even coming out soon, this will for sure be the last splash damage game I ever purchase.
Has it occurred to anyone else that maybe they had technical difficulties instead of that they’re actively trying to screw you over? Software schedules slip – they didn’t name a June date knowing they’d miss it.
If they want to make Brink 2 (hopefully subtitled Arkoral Bugaloo), then it’s in their own interest meet their dates. I’d guess they’re at least trying.

But if it’s tchnical difficulties why not let us know then?
I really like brink but this is just peeing the fans straight in the face. If you say it comes late june and then it doesn’t, at least let us know what’s going on
Or maybe if we actually read what Splash Damage has told us, we would know that the DLC is waiting on Microsoft and Sony for approval at this point.
The press releases said “planned for June” and “slated for June”. Neither is a hard commitment. Plus they got hacked by Lulzsec and the stat site went wiggy on them.
The patch that the PC got is rolled into the DLC and is in for verification by Microsoft before they can release it. Rumour is that it’s a big one.
They can give no firm date until MS have OK’ed the patch. I’m assuming that Bethesda won’t let them release it on any platform until they are ready to release it on all platforms which means it’s all waiting on MS now.
Microsoft have been known to take anything from days to weeks to OK patches. Hang tight. it’ll be along soon.
If it’s a distribution problem, SD might not be legally allowed to comment. Or maybe the devs are working the entire weekend to fix something and that takes precedence over posting to the forums. Or maybe the marketing department is all in Monaco for the royal wedding.
I agree all parties have been pretty tight lipped, but I’d prefer that to making promises they end up breaking.

I think SD is under contract to only speak when Bethesda lets them. Bethesda are very controlling when it comes to PR and it looks like SD posts get checked before allowed to be visible.
I agree that the tight-lipped information is super annoying and I wish that there was a little more transparency, but I’m guessing contractual obligations
In addition to other things mentioned:
IMO, releasing the DLC near the weekend when North America is off (Canada Day, Independence Day) would likely get the DLC missed by a lot of gamers as people take vacations on both sides of the weekend. Releases when people are out of town is poor planning.
Alright, I’m headed back to the beach.
I love how everyone is so quick to defend them, I like the game too but I’m not going to be treated like this the entire time I play SD games. Seriously though it’s my decision to return it, as it is anyone else’s to keep, but a lot of you sound like battered women standing up for their abusive husband. You’ll find any excuse so long as you can wrap your head around it, just make sure to keep some ready for the next time they do this.
I wouldn’t even be that ready to let the game go if they just… said something. It was supposed to be early june then late june then early july… and it doesn’t bother you guys that they haven’t even commented on it yet?
I’ve never seen so many people piss and moan over DLC for any other game ever. The bias is thick in here (as is the sense of entitlement.)
Because this game was half assed with little content and the dlc should give them more. And they said june (not promise, but said) and it’s early july and still not out.
Ive never seen a company talk about a game so much and say how brilliant it is before release, to then release it 10 days early with a good amount of problems, turn around and say the first DLC will be free and planned for june because of the bad sales and the game not working the first few weeks.
To then say nothing atall for a whole month [after not shutting their mouths for the past year] till the very end of june saying it has been delayed till july with a few pics, and say nothing else sinse.
If people piss and moan over this DLC compared to many other games DLC then I cant blame them…
Your logic is fail…
Release dates for games (not just DLC) change all the time. Should I be shaking my fist in anger every time a developer or publisher says a game will come out on a said date, and then the date is changed? If so, I’m bound to get carpal tunnel from all that fist shaking that would take place.
Most of those games weren’t half assed. And most of the people weren’t counting on the dlc to have fun.
And a lot of people would rather have the game the delayed for it too work instead of being broken (looking at you brink).
Don’t take me out of context.
