I have a very anoying problem with me playing ET. Everytime I connect to any server, My whole internet disconnects. I have BT internet and a white HomeHub. This whole thing restarts everytime I connect to a server and takes about 30secs - 1min to start up again? I live in the South of England and this problem has been going on for about 5 days now and is very anoying.
Can anyone help me?
(I have contacted BT and they say they are watching my internet but havnt done anything yet).

Are you able to test this on another computer in the house (a laptop maybe).
Would be useful to know if it happens all the time for any computer or just your’s

- Do You have any other online multiplayer game to verify ? free : warrock , combat arms …
- Try to stress You network connection by HD Youtube movie and/or try to use:
http://www.speedtest.net/ - What kind of internet connection - xDSL ? Any smart device to login and check some connection details
Usually the reason is xDSL device on Your side - if it’s older than 1-2 years and low end (USB) ageing components on board can’t process internet signal well then during some stress etc You loose connection. But it should appears in other games , stress Youtube and upload sth etc etc. not only under ET.
Check 3 steps and let us know.

Ok,
- I am getting MW2 soon, so Ill report back when I get that.
- I ran SpeedTest.net, all went fine. Here are the results:
Download Speed: 0.73MB/s
Upload Speed: 0.36MB/s
Ping: 91ms
Prety bad but its the best I can get in my area.
3) Im not sure what xDSL means, but I have BT internet for over a year now.

Try creating a new admin user account on your pc and then log in as that account
Then try launching ET
This will test whether the problem is user related or machine related

I have a similar problem as the OP, i have 2 comps in my apt. and im having the internet disconnecting issues with 2 of them, one runs win xp and other one runs vista… im on a wideband dsl line of 100mbps / 5 mbps
So far the disconnecting issue only happens when fetching server list on either of the computers and i have not seen a solution to this, other than just inputting the ip address and joining that way, then the internet wont disconnect. I also want to add that the disconnection is never longer than 5 to 10 seconds and ET is the only game with the ability to disconnect my internet.
Wether it’s due to non-admin rights or not i highly doubt that could disconnect my whole internet and i have done few tests without any solutions so im now asking from you, the community to help since i dont seem to be alone in this.

hi you can test the speed of your internet at Ip-details.com here they provide you good results .test your speed here and compare it with other results.
