… your mine.
k thx
I have to agree because even if an eng places a mine in a real bad place its easily blown up with a nade.
besides if u step on mine which is clearly seen - whos fault is it?
I was going to post this myself. Anyone stupid enough to run over a clearly marked mine should forfeit the right to complain.
I agree. I’m sure there are people who will run over mines and complain just to get you kicked. There is a problem tho, what happens when some dipshit eng plants an unaviodable mine field in front of spawn ?
spawns and first sets of doorways should always be on concrete (a nice rule for mappers there ;)) so mines cant be laid - stops lamest spawnkills ever aswell; also i think you can grenade mines away if you can see them (can jump over anyway). This new problem would be less of a problem than the current situation imho.
I do not agree with DG
But I do agree with the rest.
You shouldn’t be able to complain when you run over someone’s mine
Lol I made a thread saying this same thing earlier…it’s an important problem I feel so I’ll add my voice again here
Perhaps disable complaints or as another guy said, make it so you can only vote once in a round against the mine layer. I’d prefer to disable complaints all together in this instance because blind idiots shouldn’t be able to kick well meaning players off the team.
well that should be the risk u take when u lay a mine. There are many options where u need to complain about someone laying mines over place. eg over an obj or silly places while rushing to defend obj.
Yeah but other problem noted is that an anti-social player could use mines as a way to get a player kicked - should this be a danger of planting mines?
How about if the person making the complaint more than once gets kicked himself for being stupid.
if you dont have complaints on for mines, then lame tker can just plant them all over his spawn area, and you will need a callvote or an admin to kick the player. If you make spawns concrete, tker can only plant mines where it is possible to aviod them.
Therefore you do not need complaints on for mines, and also do not make it easier for tker’s.
maybe some sort of no-mine zone could be included within a certain diameter of each spawn point?
and i was actaully kicked off a server earlier because of said stupid/blind people.
Obviously being able to complaint for a kill by a friendly mine is ludicrous.
The only option is to disable mines to be triggered by friendlies, and here is why:
An option to disable/enable complains for mines would be nice,
best seperated for axis/allies and let only teammembers vote in it.
When some stupid starts planting at chokepoints to kill teammates you could enable complains,
when he triggers valid placed mines to give an Eng. complains you could disable complains.
For now I have stoped playing axis engineer because of stupid complainers repeatedly running into mines placed at the fuel dump defences.
Complaines should also be disabled for kills with dynamite or when constructions squeezing teammates.
When I play allies, blow up the axis command post and get a complain for that it’s more then only silly. :bash:
What is more worse ?
or
I think number 1 is a lot more annoying than number 2.
Yeah especially if the assholes in (1) are doing it on purpose to get you kicked.
I’m gona change my opinion on this, originally I suggested that
mines should be non-FF on pub servers, but I know have a different
view on it…
Ok, imagine that you are really on the battle field, and you have to run
through one of these mined areas… don’t you think you could negotiate
these flags without stepping on a mine ? I think I could, so, it would not
be too strange to simple stop ones team from detonating mines by
running over them (still make them blow-upable with grenades ect) ?
While I’m here, it would be nice if the mine flags rotated, as a few times
when approaching the flags from a certain angle, it was not until the last
second that I noticed the flags.

I agree something should be done. It’s unfortunate that some people have to be jerks and purposely run over mines to get you kicked. It just happened to me on Timelord of all places, a reputable server.
