Dirty Bomb - PREMIUM

(TheGreatHoundini) #41

Remember, by having Bronze available as direct purchase in Store for in-game credits SD have basically already set the possible number of Bronzes in the “economy” to Infinity.

There’s nothing new by allowing someone who buys a Booster Pack of 15 any possible combination of Gold, Silver, Bronze for the other 14 cards in addition to the guaranteed Ultra-Rare.

.
I don’t think this is the right way to approach the problem. SD need to find a good credit sink that committed players will use to drain away their credits and thus make boosters (essentially this game’s form of premium time) valuable. This doesn’t seem to be to be the right way to implement it.
I can agree with you on that one. BUT credits booster atm are WAY overpriced. Lets say a base fee of 15 creds/min (that’s already high) that’s 156018 = 16.200 credits for $8. Now for $3.5 you can buy a 17.500 credit bronze card. And for $10 you can buy a 50k merc. How does it make sence to make ~17k credits for $8.

That is kind of the whole thing of this “premium” to offer people that want the support the game a FAIR price for extra credits and/or cases.

Thet only time were booster make sence is during double/triple credits and maybe ranked. Unless they maken it to were it also double’s mission rewards and daily bonusses I think it isn’t worth the money…at all.

Again the idea of premium is having extra credits for a fair deal.

tl;dr except for OP’s post.

I’d actually like to see a feature where you can buy in game gold for real cash. Just like it is in World of Tanks.

Then you are free to do whatever you want, buy premium for a month, half year or a year. Other in game content such as cases, boosters would be purchasable as usual.

The premium itself should be nothing more than XP and gold income boost. Just like WoT has. This also helps to level up faster thus getting arsenal cases more often and enjoy having more cash to buy vanity and try luck with RNGesuse more often.

Please no, just lock this thread already

Despite that I’ve also started to dislike the idea since implementing something like this would imo make devs wander too far and too deep into unnecessarily complicated systems, it has absolutely all the right to be voiced and discussed.

A couple days ago I made a video (https://goo.gl/XfntW1) talking about Premium.
This is basicly a way how people can spend money on Dirty Bomb, thus supporting the game/devs without buying case, boosters or mercs. I think a lot of people can agree that case atm are overpriced an very unrewarding, even disheartening.

I’m sure this idea has at the very least been talked about. (or maybe it already has been dismissed)

My idea was basicly to have a way where you can purchase for a monthly fee of around $15, a DB Premium Subscribtion. This would include one case per day with only iron and higher. A poor mans Expert Case if you will. And permanently 50% extra credits, that would stake with events, ranked and Credit Boosters. (not making booster useless)

A day later Cliff made a follow up video (https://goo.gl/fVyRrc) going a little further and actually giving 3 (actually 4) different price stages, each with their own perks.

Cliff’s ideas:
Bronze Tier:

  • 25% Extra Credits & XP
  • 15.000 In-Game Credits (once a month)
    For $6.99 a month

Silver Tier:

  • 50% Extra Credits & XP
  • 30.000 In-Game Credits (once a month)
  • A Elite Case A & B Bundle (once a month)
    For $12.99 a month

Gold Tier:

  • 50% Extra Credits & XP
  • 50.000 In-Game Credits (once a month)
  • A Arsenal Crate (every day)
    For $18.99 a month

Elite Operative Tier: i

  • 100% Extra Credits & XP
  • 50.000 In-Game Credits (once a month)
  • A Arsenal Crate (every day)
  • Elite Operative Exclusive Cosmetics
    For $34.99 a month

Universal Rewards: (for all Tiers)
- Client Sided Game Lobbys (custom servers?!)

  • Toggle-able Contributor Badge
  • The option to change your clantag color[
  • 10% Discount on all Trade-Ups % Trade-Ins/i]

I really love the idea of having multiple stages, so people can decide how much they want to spend. It should be noted that the more month you buy, the more ‘‘extra’’ stuff you’d get. For instance if you were to buy 12 months, you’d get 2 extra months. The extra XP I’m not 100% sure about, because we have players that have spend hondruds of hours into the game and really like their level because it shows how ‘‘skilled’’ & how much time you’ve put in to the game. But it would be nice because of leveling up faster and thus receiving even more Arsenal Crates :hushed:

Cliff also talked about special promotions/coupon for Premium players. Like discounts for Case Bundles, mercs, Boosters, ect.

Now in my video I held a poll, asking people IF and IF so, how much money would they be willing to spend on Dirty Bomb each month. I think the results are very interesting to say the least:
http://i.imgur.com/SyUR3aU.png
You can see that 75% is willing to spend money on a monthly base, granted this is only a poll with 64 votes, so it might not be 100% reliable. But I still think that is a really big deal! And something that shouldn’t be ignored by Splash Damage.
We’re aware that SB maybe doesn’t make these types of decisions, but Nexon.

Also a lot of people want to spend money on the game and support it, but feel like it’s currently not rewarding/sattisfing to buy cases and/or boosters:

Of course all of the prices and the actual stuff you’d get is totally speculation. Feel free to give your suggestions and constructive criticism.

Haters gonna hate, I know that a lot of F2P-players are like ‘‘allergic’’ to pay for games…I think that these ideas are totally not P2W.

@RazielWarmonic I hope that we’ll see something very similar to this in the future. I think you would be surprised how many people are really devoted to Dirty Bomb and want to support the game.
but… thats 64 people…
i dont think 64 people represent the whole community

i mean people like me,
can only spend roughly 5$ because my wage already covered most bills for my home.
The 7 people that voted for more than $15 a month are all Sniff.

(TheStrangerous) #47

Remember how it went with Quake Live? You couldn’t even VOTE FOR MAPS without subscription.

(solace_) #48

hang on here buddy, I never said there was no negative opinions of the ideas. I simply stated that it seemed as if there was a lot of support for the idea. Of course this one thread and the people that have commented here by no means represents the entire community; that would be a ridiculous assumption. There are a lot of different views on this topic and I thought it would be interesting if the devs maybe took a look and gathered some data of their own from the entire player base.

Glad we cleared that up.

(shock) #49

While I do got some mixed feelings for a premium concept in the game, I honestly does sound like a good idea to do for suckers like me who spent over $200 on cases just to feel cheated out on getting 10 silvers. I can understand from a f2p perspective that this sounds pay to win but this game is PAY TO ADVANCE meaning you’re only making it easier to have some ingame items faster. But I won’t lie this thread is kind of bad cause people don’t know how free to plays work.

(Cuck) #50

free to play but you can sell some extra stuff with money right?

(B_Montiel) #51

First of all : no xp boost. They quickly stopped doing double xp weekends for a good reason : that’s the only way to know how time people spent on the game. Even though it’s rough (skill gaps…), when you see a level 40, you suppose he knows some stuff about the game.

Secondly, such system with pay 2 advance architecture directly collides with the potential trading system. People need to know what they prefer for the future : get stuff faster or be able to trade unused for other players. But, for obvious flooding/whaling reasons, both trading and premium systems can’t be sustainable together. Either we get equal chances to get stuff through playing/buying crates or everyone can enjoy progressing through items at its own rate by paying premium stuff. But not everything mixed in.

Finally, I just don’t want this kind of system because I’ve played tribes ascend, and at the end, the vip boost just became a big screw you to people who couldnot put 20 bucks into their f2p game. The progression was just an absurd crawl for anyone who played for free. Buying a new main weapon required a good week playing 4/5 hours a day for them… That’s an easy mistake with this kind of system that WILL be repeated here. And by the way, anyone over level 30 is already flooding with credits. I hardly see the usefulness of this.

im poor as fuck th:smile:

but i get your point, these “premium stuff” should be limited only to stuff like skin:smile:

i do want the developer to be able to eat tho:smile:
i know how it feel when all your work dont get appreciated enough…

and what the fudge with the fudging smil:smile:

(B_Montiel) #53

I also want the developer to be able to eat.

Here’s a solution that was adopted by EA/dice quite a long time ago for battlefield 2, very simple, very clever in my opinion in the DB context. You were able to create a server, even from home, using binaries they were providing freely. So did any server provider. But those servers were not ranked (no xp progression counted).

To be able to host ranked servers, providers needed to enter some qualifications/validate EA requirements to host them. After that, provider obviously gave a royalty on top of every ranked server rent. For the same server quality, a ranked costed roughly 15€ more per month than an unranked one for 30 slots.

Since every community expects to see their server crowded, guess what happened ? Every one rent ranked servers, even though they might turn it private pretty much every evening to do scrims, tourneys and championships.

Personally, that’s probably this kind of things that will open my wallet to devs in this game.

(shock) #54

I never thought of renting out servers for this game. It does seem like a good idea, but you also have to understand that SD and nexon arnt as big as dice or ea so they probably don’t have as many servers as they do but I’m not sure cause they always say they got server issue when ever someone during the streams mentions the private servers.
