Dirty Bomb player numbers dropping rapidly, what's the reason? Does the game have a future?

I’m going to unlock this necro for a second to try and clear up something that is a common mistake that I keep seeing people make. @A.D.N @Watsyurdeal @Izzy

For some reason many people only look at concurrent player count as a sign of how popular a game is. It is an OK sign to look at a game’s recent popularity in a quick and dirty fashion. However, it’s not even close to being a good judge of how many players are playing. There are not 4,000 people only playing DB total. Those are concurrent player numbers…as in people playing this very second.

Click on Audience 2 week or Audience total. The Audience 2 week gives you a pretty solid idea of just how many people are playing Dirty Bomb every week. Currently it’s around 180,000 people playing DB consistently. That’s a lot of people and nowhere near “dying”. That’s A LOT more than Quake 3 ever had and that game is still being played 15+ years after release.

So please, if people who read this could do what you can to clear up this very common misconception about concurrent player numbers it would be a great help. It is one of those things that sends people into a panic due to bad information and can drive people away because why invest time into something that is “dying”.

SD does need to add incentive to make competitive a good choice without forcing people to do it.

Ok, closing again. Also, please don’t necro
