Dirty Bomb is awesome and I want to give the devs money

(Ctrix) #1

But there’s nothing I can buy. What do I do?
I refuse to play a lottery designed to appeal to all the abusive tendencies of gambling, with no payoff for myself.
I already bought the gun bauble. But they’re baubles. Little actual value. I hardly notice them myself.

When do the devs plan to actually release skins and stuff so they can get money? Looking at the business model right now, I’d expect them to make pachinko machines, and not video games.

You can always send a check to SDs mailbox.
Their address:
Splash Damage
Royal Court

United Kingdom

The humble bundle pack was somehow what you were looking for. A price tag for a skin pack, no rng involved (humble bundle case aside). Many people around here bought it so I’d tend to think that was a successful thing. Somehow a bit overpriced for possible future plans.

Let us buy skins we can apply to a bronze loadout. I’m sure that’d sell like hot cakes.

I must’ve missed that.
Fuck me

(Amerika) #5

Yup. I’ve bought the trinkets and I bought the Humble Bundle. I’m the exact same way. I despise the f2p mobile focused whale/gambling/pokemon addict tactics used with the overly heavy RNG cosmetics. So I’ve not bought a single Expert/Elite case. Give me something I can buy where I know exactly what I am getting and you get my money. I hope that the results of the trinket sales and the Humble Bundle provided some evidence that there is money to be made without attaching heavy RNG.

(bontsa) #6

Yes, for the love of Cthulhu and all It’s spawnlings, @Nexon let us goddamn finally have proper store products instead of this ultimate RNG simulator!

Pretty much at the same situation here as OP, I won’t touch the store until I know what cosmetics I can get. Trinkets are, yes, move to right direction but earlier skin implementation should be abolished and re-done from scratch. Or reworked above the current, I don’t know.

(Matuno) #7

I agree. For the entirety of my Dirty Bomb career I’ve been in total disbelief in how nothing in the store is at all appealing. I’ve purchased a few mercs as a means of supporting the game, though I easily make 50k a day anyway and it wasn’t very necessary.

I’ve spent well over 100 euros on TF2’s items, crafting together some fun aesthetics for the classes I enjoy playing. Can’t do that on Dirty Bomb. Can’t even influence my chances of getting the card I want, not the slightest.

(Mc1412013) #8

Why won’t they sell real merchandise like shirts action figures ect. I understand it takes a lot to set up but I know own there’s place/websites that handle all that. I want a damn shirt already and a few action figures for my computer room shelves would be nice and some beanie babies too l. I refuse to pay for stupid load out cards that give u the lowest possible cards that don’t have the augments u want. I have enough credits for the next 6 mercs any ways.

Also why would I want to spend a lot on in game items for a game that has a no unban policy. God forbid I load an app or driver that ngs mistakes as a hacking app even though it has nothing to do with the game I’d be out all that money. I’d only spend a lot if they implement a way so in the event I get permanent banned I could transfer my mercs, loadouts, and trinkets to either a new account or at minimum my kids accounts accounts that have been created months ago

+1.

Honestly it blows my mind.

You have people that love your game and want to support it.

Why ignore potential paying customers? Weirdest F2P game in history.

(blisteringOwlNest) #10

As long as Nexon don’t get confused between “more things to buy” and “more cosmetic things to buy” they would literally make so much money.

And I’d love to be able to buy figures, t shirts, phone cases…

(n-x) #11

Would be great to get the head shots of the mercs as posters. Even better if you could get load out cards as posters, so you could get your standard squad an hang it on the wall.

(HunterAssassin5) #12

Reload animations, inspect animations, alternate character models, hats, masks, taunt animations, just a few things I can think off the top of my head that could work. Maybe the character models thing won’t work out too great, but head cosmetics won’t have you mistake a proxy for any other merc.
I’d make all my mercs wear a ballcap, goggles and a bandana, just like old times.

(pinkOrchid) #13

Scrap the loadout cards or make it so we can alter them ourselves both with augments, weapons and skins within some set parameters. So tired of browing the store or looking around in the barracks for something to do.

(Sir_Slam) #14

Same here. Honestly I just want silver cards. I don’t like the gold or cobalt ones. Just let me buy some of the winter camo cards for my characters and I’ll drop the game some cash.

As it stands I’ve not spent much on the game because to hell with RNG and I’ve got all the characters I want.

(CCP115) #15

If I wasn’t as poor as I am, I would also ask for ways to support SD.

At least if SD cancels DB for lack of funds, we can all laugh and say “Not really our problem.”

(Runeforce) #16

You want to ‘give’ SD your money, but you are up in arms on getting something in return? Sorry, but my bullshitdetectoralarm just went off! By playing it, you are supporting it, and with it the business model you find morally repulsive. Your best option is to walk away, because obviously it’s not going to change anytime soon…

(blisteringOwlNest) #17

@Runeforce wrong and rude. They are a business, they have to appeal to their customers to gain money, like every business. We want to help them succeed, not pay them while they fail.

And it’s a great game. Playing it doesn’t support the current business model, using the current model does. Surely playing it shows it is worth something to the company, but a lack of money being generated through the current model shows people arnt willing to pay for bull RNG.

(Runeforce) #18

The thing is, the RNG model is what is working best. No amount of hypocritical forum whining is going to change that, because, as you said, they are running a business!

I am not a fan of the RNG thing myself, but if that is what I have to endure for being a paying customer, compared to the massive ammounts I get for free (basicly everything, except fast shinies,) so be it.

(blisteringOwlNest) #19

If many people are “whining” about it, then obviously there is a problem. Although I’m not a big fan of the RNG system, it probably does get them money from people like sniff who can afford it. But for the base consumer, they may not be able to buy a lot, and have s high chance of being disappointed with their purchase. And that discourages repeat purchases, which are crucial for long term sustainability.

Hell, keep the RNG system, but add more for us to buy. More definite products would be great, such as the Christmas trinkets and humble bundle pack.
There is literally no disadvantage to this.

(Ctrix) #20

I aint a charity, smartass
The RNG model isn’t “what’s working best”. It’s the only thing they ever tried. How old are you
