Different Accents For Each Team?

(hamstein) #1

I was curious if each team got different accents.

For example there would be a British accent. Security sounds like you’re average Brit, whatever the hell they sound like.

Resistance would have a more “Red neck Brit” accent which I believe is a cockney, don’t flame me if I’m wrong. They would just have heavier accents sounding less educated I guess you’d say; though that’s a bit rude but does fit with the general theme of the resistance (you aren’t learning much living in a slum, besides you know; what garbage kills you and what garbage will just give you food poisoning.

I dunno, I just think it would be neat if they had this feature in the game; curious if it’s in or not. If not then I demand you divert all your resources into implementing this feature because that’s what game companies do; they listen to one post from an anonymous user and do what he says 20 days before the game comes out.

Sorry, but we really didn’t want to do this. I contrast it to Star Wars, where the Empire has British accents and the Rebels are American. We never wanted such an explicit good vs evil divide, it’s a place where both sides can claim some element of righteousness.

Anyone can pick any of the accents, regardless of the team.

The ultra-liberal elite ran a strict diversity program in their security recruitment program.

Somehow I think I’m going to regret saying this.

I think you mean a chav accent.

(obliviondoll) #6

I remember reading somewhere (probably the bethSoft forums, they have MASSES of random stuff bouncing around) that there will be 8 different accents available, and none will be unique to either side.

It makes sense that people on the Ark would have a collection of different accents, so I’m not complaining.

Fookin’ chavs!

(Bullveyr) #8

Brits vs. Americans, isn’t that more like evil vs. evil.

Personally I was hoping the Ark Security would have Yoda’s accent…

“Do, or do not. There is no try. Defend the Ark you must!”

And all the resistance members can be wearing respirators/gas masks and sound a little like Darth Vader.

“The Police Force is strong in this one!”

Cockney is an english regional accent. Not british. Britain consists of Scotland ,Northern Ireland , Wales and England. All have very distinct accents. Each country has distinct regional accents.

Don’t know where your from hamstein and i mean no offence but don’t assume that all british are English.

To any English people reading this NO i do not hate the english. I hate the generalization of britain. Assuming that english people are the way ALL britains are.

It’s like me quoting Deliverance in that hillbilly voice and saying. ALL americans sound like this, ALL americans talk like this and ALL americans are guilty of incest.

generalizing an accent is quite a bit different then generalizing 320 million people as being guilty of incest…

I exaggerate for effect. trying to point out how annoying it might be for americans if people thought that.

(and some people do funnily enough. My friend is CONVINCED Deliverance is a documentary of a typical day in america)

(Herandar) #14

He didn’t say or imply ALL Brits speak Cockney. Just the redneck Brits (fine, redneck English). Whom I believe are actually the fine folks from Devonshire and thereabouts.

I will give you a better example. Calling an American a Yank or Yankee; and its very common for people from other countries to do it, and only the most anal Americans complain about it.

Norfolk. I once worked down there in a chicken factory one weekend supervising an installation of ours, all the workers looked related to each other…

I personally find it irritating when people think I’m Scottish because the only English accents they know are the Queen’s and the cast of Eastenders. It happens every time I’m abroad!

I for one am tired of paddling my canoe through a gorge everyday to get to work.

The bondage and rape are another matter… wait what?

Many Southerners actively dislike/hate being called Yankees. Yankees are Northeners. Though as the old people that remember the “good ol’ days” of segregation and Dixiecrats die off, the hatred towards the victors of the American Civil War is dying off too.

i hate being called a yankee because of the baseball team
