Did anyone play it who can tell how it went?

I thought about trying it… but the prize (or at least passage through the opening rounds) was to the person with the most XP on the whole server. Also it was no-FF-damage.

So it would be an entirely different kind of game from normal. There’s no reason to complete the objectives at all (unless you already had more XP than anyone else, and just wanted to end it so nobody could catch up). So really, it was an XP-whore competition. Who can earn points the fastest? (If I had been running the contest, the winner would’ve been the highest XP person on the winning team. That’s vulnerable to whoring too, but not as much)

I’d assume the winner would be either medic or covert… nah, probably medic. Covert can get big points by pants-collecting (off of other people’s kills), but without the super-health of a medic, he’ll probably spend a fair amount of time waiting to respawn. The medic can just follow teammates, healing only himself and waiting for them to fall down so he can get 5 needle XP.

Since there are no objectives, abilities like landmines, mobile MG42, mortar, or artillery are useless- they all block off an area, and the Allies have no real reason to go through. FO can’t get XP from ammo either- the other players will want to avoid giving you the XP, and instead take it from the racks.

So, am I right? Was it all just coverts+medics chasing after bodies to pants or needle them?

I had my game on Sat Nite and came very close to winning my round.

My mate had played a few hrs before and said yes, total frag fest and Medics won - said it was thru healling and killing.

So i thought id be sneaky, as the turnouts were quite low ( i think we had 9 players in my game ) and since i prefer allied engy, a quick win would be best… So i shared building the Pump and Command post :eek3: done the back stairs Wall plant and got both guns, within about 6min 30 - i was leading the whole time till my south gun plant was defused… i noticed then that out team medic was equal to me on XP ( 60 somthing ) and if i didnt get the Gun quick he’d beat me. And alas even tho i got every obj, i was beaten by about 15XP…

i shoulda tapped out, i let him revieve me early in the game!!

All said, it was fun but a terrible way to run a compo, dont suit the game IMO

Well in my match yesterday I decided the best way to go would be to go medic and axis or eng. and allies. I ended up on the axis side so I went medic. Well there were only 4 people in my room 2 on eaach team and I thought no way this cant be all of the competition so I watched the timer counting down and down it went all the way til the match started with just 2 people on each team.

So my teammate was a soldier with a panzer and to make the 30 minute match short. They only captured the old city once and were relived of it shortly after I ended up with twice the xp (440) as my teammate who went field ops to get more xp (212) by supplying me with ammo. I only ended up with a lvl 1 medic but had lvl 4 light weps and lvl 4 battle sense.

The winner on the poor other team ended up with 89 xp and his teammate ended up with 69 or something close to that.

Didn’t take part myself…and now I know the way it was run I am glad I didn’t!
