Did anyone else notice any "netcode" issues since sparks update ? (video included)

Its also not like you are playing on a out-of-region server where the lag compensation saves your hitreg, maybe even improves it.
I have tried this on USA servers connected from the EU, pretty good experience actually.

But with this problems with highping on the in-region servers the game just completely breaks.

It has become quite… not common but not rare… that I come across a team of 200ping players and for some reason it’ll toss me on a server that also gives me 80-100 ping and frankly the other team is nearly impossible to hit while moving it is ridiculous.

In short, I can’t understate how much I ****ing hate it.

This sort of thing would happen to me regardless of ping. -_-

love having 200 ping on Australian servers in MM

Noticed it today for the first time. Pretty bad. It may be on my end, it may very well be Nexon servers, or somewhere in between. Saturday evening traffic is pretty high i guess, higher than usual.

Symptoms:

  • hits not registering
  • enemies lag out (client side prediction code), then they disappear
  • sometimes can not see enemies
  • fragger flying weirdly into place as i turn around the corner

This is like a true WTF! Great catch!

You forgot shooting through turrets.

So, after phantom patch its still horrible. If it follows the patter it should probably start being playable in a week. I kinda wish that SD would comment on the issue, but then again i didnt expect much from client side hit detection =/.

This must be down to your connection somehow.

I know it sounds weird, but, there are players including myself who don’t/haven’t experienced anything like this ever…

I highly doubt it as i have no problems in any other game (and i can tell most of the time when my provider screws me over), + you can see that a lot of people did post videos as well.

The only thing that could be wrong that is outside of SD control would probably be a wonky gateway from my country/region, losing packets or something, but then i would at least feel it in other games or i would see my ping being higher then normal. I just suspect that a lot of servers are simply of low quality because there are servers that i have no issues on, but so far every min level 10 server is laggy for me. Also i had no problem at most patches, as it was fletcher patch that broke the game for me, then kira patch fixed it and then it got broke again.

I guess that a lot of people might not even notice the delay, i wasnt even sure myself before i checked the videos on spots where my brain gave me “wtf is this bull****” reaction.

^^ I have to agree that I don’t think it’s a problem with individual connections. I’ve done every test within reason to check mine and they all come back golden(good stats, no faulty software or equipment, nothing interfering, and only this game has the issue). But that being said, we have hit on an interesting point. This issue doesn’t affect everyone, and never has. For me, it has been ongoing since alpha. Some builds are fine, some not. For others, like above, it happened later on…I’ve also seen and spoken with people who seem to have never had an issue. So obviously, there’s something different about those of us getting the issue, but it’s unlikely our connection as certain builds of the game don’t have the issue and others do(and if it were our connection they would all have the issue).

(Domipheus) #32

It’s not individual connection. The warping since the last patch has been pretty bad.

Every server. Maybe due to low-spec rigs (ive got a q6600 cpu)?

slow CPU could explain the warps.

have you looked at the ‘low FPS solved’ thread about hud influencing your stutters?

Yep, it helps but the warps remain. It’s very hard to see in the twitch stream due to my encoding being on ultra****, but the fps does not stutter when the warp happens. The stream seeming that way is a side effect of the codec.

maybe this is why I don’t get them, I recently upgraded my computer fully.

(ragnak) #36

**** it, it laggs all the time, people warp around and i even have less fps after the update. As if phantom and view kick changes wasnt enough. I think we reached the point where i rather see a patch once a month then deal with this bull**** every 2 weeks.

(sunshinefats) #37

Unfortunately, that’s not the issue. My rig is really very good by most people’s standards and I still got the issue.

Yeah it’s pretty sketchy at best lately. I re-installed last night and played a game on a min lvl 10 server and finished 9/0…The following game(with all the same people) I could barely hit anyone even with my crosshair dead on their chest. So yeah, it’s frustrating as crap. I don’t think the devs know(or care) what causes it at this point either. :frowning:

Played for around 6 hours, did receive a few spikes and connection timeout.

(sunshinefats) #39

Sooner or later they’ll fix it I’m sure; in the meantime I guess we’re just left cursing at our monitors and throwing the mouse lol ;p

(mccrorie) #40

I know this isn’t really network exactly, but it’s getting really bad. The previous patch was great. I thought I had my cfg sussed!

Someone used a vsay! Can you see it?
