Not like Proxy/Bushwacker which are arguably easier to play. And therefore should have more firepower.

Have to disagree here, Fletcher requires a different playstyle from other mercs but different in itself doesn’t mean harder. Once you understand what you’re supposed to be doing with Fletcher it becomes much easier to kill than with the other 2 engies. I play engie for my team and I don’t like how if I don’t always pick Fletcher I’m hurting the team, I think he should be put on the same level as the other 2 engies so that there was an actually meaningful choice to be made.
So basically the harder to play merc should be nerfed down to the level of the easier to play mercs? But yet still be harder to play? Sure lets nerf sticky damage but then the bombs should be have a homing system added? So it’s easier to sticky people…seems fair to me…if you’re going to nerf skill based play you may as well make it easier to play too.
Some kind of magnet perhaps…mercs have plenty of metallic objects on them.
But he’s not harder to play that’s the point. There is an initial barrier which is rethinking the way you play, but that new way itself is not hard at all. It’s much harder to straight up out-aim someone with an smg than to get kills with stickies, and that’s how Bush and Proxy have to work for the majority of their kills. Mines and turrets are only as easy to use as they are easy to counter for anyone that plays enough to have a decent sense of map layouts and merc matchups.
He isn’t? So having to have enough aim to stick close to/to your target is = to drop and forget mines that newbs trip over all the time?
