I really don’t understand what’s wrong about what MadMatt did. To fight cheats, you have to prove that they exist.
I don’t think many people will start cheating just because of this thread. I never cheated, and I’ll never do. It’s the same for cheaters: Those who want to cheat will do it.

I think he gave prove to some important facts:

  • PB doesn’t help much
  • It maybe is hard to tell if somebody is cheating.

The people who played against him with cheat had bad luck, however I think this prove was worth doing it.

But did he prove it to anyone other than himself? I didn’t see the demo, but I doubt that it’s more obvious than other demos that have already been posted on different forums.

I simply don’t see how what he did proves anything to those who deny that there are working cheats for ET. All it did was to (temporarily) increase the number of cheaters.

How do you know that? I’ve seen several people get kicked by PB, and although they will probably update their cheat they at least couldn’t use it that day.

181 people banned from the www.rtcw.co.uk servers, almost all kicked and banned by PunkBuster (a few TK’ers as well, but not many). There may well be some that have gone undetected, but that’s still 181 less cheats than there would have been without PB.

and not get caught at it!

Maybe not today… But your hack will be detected in the next few days… and then another one will be released and a few days later it will be detected this cycle will continue. Then theres PB screenshots - If you come on any of the servers I admin with cheats, I will see - even if PB didnt detect it and you will be banned.

Cheaters are the lowest of low, the most moronic of morons… I don’t care if you “were just testing it / trying to prove a point / whatever” if you have installed a cheat and used it on a public server then you don’t deserve to breath.

I’ll tell you whats going on… I bet MadMattUK has been caught hacking/cheating on servers and with this thread once he gets caught with his new one…he’ll say well i was showing it would work and even made a thread on splash damage about it. I don’t cheat i was proving a point and seeing how it worked. BS

If i see you on my server i’ll ban you just for using it on that other server now that you showed everyone you did it… and of course for stupidity also.
