Minor things: They said that the DLC was planned for June. That doesn’t mean definitely June. Plans change. The community has been hyping up the June deadline and misquoting (and by ‘misquoting’ I mean ‘making stuff up about’) the original press release. That’s not SD’s fault. They’ve always kept the attitude of “when it’s done” and “when we have a solid date we’ll let you know”.

They never once said “Definitely June! This is 100% out in June! Before the last day of the sixth month of the eleventh year of the second century of the Gregorian calendar!!! Definitely!”

They basically said “Planned for June”. Look further up this thread for my other comment that contains the link to the press release.

Some companies charge $15 for maps! And some companies limit the playlist if you don’t have the DLC. Last time I got free DLC was Halo 3 Map Cold Storage and Discovery Channel Maps for Gears. It is really cool that the DLC for Brink will be free.

Who even cares about the DLC? It wont fix weapon balance on PC so the game will still remain as a Carb-9 spray’n’win.

While I agree that is probably the case… I’m quite sure they never stated a patch was coming out with it. So to be so matter-of-fact about it, is unwarranted.

But yes I do agree since they haven’t patched the game in a couple weeks and they obviously had some of the fixes in testing weeks ago. (weapon tweaks) It is probable that there will be a patch along with the DLC or around the time of the DLC. It’s just not a sure thing.

I’m completely bummed out with this game now :frowning:

I got it for both xbox and pc and I really like playing as an operative and doing all the cool stuff you can do.

But the lack of players on xbox, the minimum amount of servers (they are either full or empty) on PC, the total downer of the forums and the bad game designs and bugs, lack of controller support on PC (had to use PGP), game lag is getting old.

I will be back BRINK, just don’t know when.

Did I release the game in a horrible, nearly unplayable (for many) state?
Did I implement quick fixes that skated the thin line of officially making the “16 Player Multiplayer” note on the game case into false advertising?
Did I lead the entire playerbase to expect FREEEE DLC during the month of June?

I’m positive that Splash Damage will do good to keep this game alive, even if they did DO BAD with the release, or else I would have long abandoned the game.

The ‘Blind Defence’ mentality around here is starting to really wind me up.

As for those who continue to claim they’re playing 8v8 human matches, I hope you continue to enjoy them…because, despite being online since launch day, I have NEVER found a game, in ANY mode, with more than 5 TOTAL humans in it. E V E R. Perhaps it’s timezone related…

Unlike others around here, I’d never be so patronising as to claim folks are lying, but these mythical occurences are like Bigfoot sightings to me…many people claim to have seen them, but I ****ing haven’t.

As for the ‘be patient’ mantra…**** that, frankly. June means June, and patience is for the meek. I continue to hope that the DLC comes bundled with a serious patch which gives Brink it’s second wind. I’m becoming less fanboi by the day, as Brink just feels repetitive to me now. I have resisted trading it in, as in short bursts it’s still fun, but I’m banking on the DLC/patch…

I was going to start levelling another character this week, but I haven’t got round to it yet…which says it all, really.

SD need to get a wriggle on, or there’ll not be much of the community left to receive future patches or DLC - Brink has mega-potential, but hasn’t realised it yet. One would hope that SD are aware of the dwindling fanbase and growing negativity, but due to what seems to be an ironclad Beth-gag, we don’t know that for sure…for all we know, most of the dev team has already ‘switched-fire’ to other projects.

The game shouldn’t be a campfest like cod or cs.

What they need to fix is the netcode, more optimization, unlock fps cvars, add more hud customization. SDK would be cool too.
